This mixer has worked pretty well, but this weekend it burned out on a batch of Massa Souada (portugese sweet bread). It went clunkity clunk and then quit turning on :-(. I really expected to have this mixer for a long time, so I'm a little disappointed 3 Today I bought this gem a couple of years ago and have been more than happy with it. It is, I think, the low end of the Kitchenaid mixers, much like the classic. But I also think, from all the reviews I have read that this one will out do and out last the pricier and admittedly prettier Artisian series. I am not an uber baker, so I cannot say how long this would last if I baked everyday. With a little care I think a long time. The directions are very clear about what speeds to use and what amount of specific flours that should be used to ensure that the motor can handle the work. I do make more bread now than I used to, the ease of letting the mixer knead for 10 minutes while I am free to do other things in the kitchen is wonderful. Also for those big holiday meals this takes the work out of everything from baking to mashing potatos. Highly recomended. 5 Today KitchenAid 2 Liter Mixer This is my pride of ownership equipment. There is not enough good I can say of recommendation. Worked super right out of box. Do not know why I did not acquire this unit many years ago. Unlike a bread maker, a wide range of types of bread are possible. 5 Today very good product It is a very powerful mixer. I like it. But I have difficult time to remove the mixing bowl after use. 4 Today Like it better than 600watt model I've had the 300 watt mixer for 13 years and love it. I like the ease of the tilt-back head. This model does a great job with everything from beating egg whites to mixing up a double batch of cookie dough. I recently received the 600 model. The 600 model makes a LOT more noise, doesn't seem to reach the bottom of the bowl so creaming and whipping aren't performed as well. AND, once you've gotten used to the tilt-back design, the lift-up design seems cumbersome. It's difficult to remove the beater and you can't remove the bowl without removing the beater. I use my 300 watt most of the time because it's more user friendly. Every cook/baker should have one. 5 Today Love my Kitchen Aid!! My family cooks and bakes a lot. The Kitchen Aid mixer makes it so much easier. We love homemade cookies, but it is so tiring to cream the butter and sugar by hand. With the mixer, it is a breeze. It is also great for beating egg whites or whipped cream. And it is so much better than a hand-held mixer because you can be doing other things while the stand mixer is doing the work. Our first Kitchen Aid lasted through about 25 years of use and abuse (including once getting knocked off the island onto the floor) and we look forward to this one being just as reliable and long lasting. 5 Today KitchenAid KSM90 Mixer We love our new mixer.
