Not as mini as I expected
"Mini" is an overstatement. Looks to be about 10-20% smaller than a typical desk mouse. I was looking for something smaller for travel.

Tracks well on almost anything
I love this mouse. I had the shorter cord one (perfect for notebooks). It would track on almost any surface, reflective, blankets, carpets, pants, whatever. It tracks much better than my Dell optical mouse. After a couple of years using it as a portable mouse it started acting strange. A single call to Belkin got me a new one, no problem. The new one has the longer cord, which is a little bulky for the notebook, but I guess satisfied some desktop users. A great little mouse, I love it!

Excellent (for a while)
As my title says, this mouse is great until you've been using it quite a while. When I bought my laptop, I immediately went out to find an inexpensive, portable optical mouse that would replace the touch-pad (which I don't like). I found the Belkin Miniscroller for under twenty dollars and bought it. It has been a joy for the seven or eight months I've owned it until a few weeks ago when it started acting up. On good days, it'll work like it always has, but on other days (like today) it will stop working and the optical light will turn off. I disconnect and re-connect numerous times and the only thing that fixes it is a restart. On other days, it won't work at all, no matter what I do, and yet on other days, it will stop working, then I unplug it and plug it back in, and it works. It's really hit-or-miss; I never know what it'll do each day. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, downloading new updated drivers, and nothing has worked. It's a fantastic little mouse, a good size for traveling but still not too small for big hands (like my huge hands), good cord length (about 4 feet), and great responsiveness on-screen... BUT, after a few months of normal use (I stress NORMAL, because I did not abuse it in any way) it may or may not start to act up and give you a lot of frustration. But then again, it's so inexpensive you might as well buy two or three and have some back-ups in case this happens to you!

Great Mouse - While it lasted.
I have to say that this mouse is very well designed for laptop users. It was a great mouse, and, you can read the other reviews to find out how. I bought this mouse when I bought my Toshiba Laptop for use in school. The mouse worked great: *Instantly recognized when plugged in. *Small size perfect for portable use. *Etc Etc. The problems started after about 8 months of constant use, being carried from class to class, being unplugged and plugged several times everyday. It worked great untill the cord got a short in it. The mouse started to stop working if you moved the cord close to the USB connector. I fixed this by cutting off about a foot of the cord and the USB connector, and connecting another one. This seemed to solve the problem, but now, after exactly a year of using the mouse, the laser light on it is turning on and off for no apparent reason, and I am afraid I am now shopping for a new mouse. Therefore I conclude that while this mouse is great for laptops, in is not durabble enough to be called truelly portable. It cannot stand up to the use that a mobile laptop user would give it. However, I have to be fair and mention that the plug on my power supply eventually came off after being plugged and unplugged so often, so this mouse is not the only non-durable laptop item.

Mini my foot!
Not a true "mini" mouse. It is about as bulky and cumbersome as the cheapy mouse that comes with bundled PC packages. Not at all suitable for small hands (or people with a hand disability) as it so claims. It may have fared better had Belkin omitted the word "mini" from its name. A hassle downloading drivers which were not easy to find on Belkin's site. Also, there was no USB-to-PS/2 adapter in the package; you'd have to call the vendor and special-request it which they ship to you standard. They don't expedite.

"Good" Mouse, not "Great"
I purchased this mouse because of its attractive price being it is optical. It was very easy to setup on my Windows 98 desktop, although I guess it is used for laptops. But at any rate, I loved the simplicity of this mouse. The draw back was the wheel for me. When ever I would want to scroll down a page and it would run over a drop-down list, it would change the setting of the web page and take me places I didn't want. This happens EVEN if the selected option in the drop-down list is NOT HIGHLIGHTED. But if you switch its mode to Default, then the mouse only allows you to scroll 1 line per scroll unit! That is too slow for me! Even if you change the Scroll Speed, it doesn't work if you remain in Default. It is not a major problem, but an annoying one. Other than that, this mouse is small and durable, which I prefer. I would rate it a 3.5 if I could, but 3 would sound too low. So I rated it 4 stars, especially considering its sticker price.

Great for laptops
I bought this mouse to go w/ my laptop. I love it except for the super long cord. There is a debate on if it is 3 or 6ft long... but it's too long for me either way. Other than that though it has been extremely durable and I can use it on just about any surface. I highly recommend it. :)

Great miniature for your notebook
This mouse is PERFECT for people like me who, with their laptops, are fine with the touchpad/eraser head for short periods of time, but like to unwind with a normal mouse for longer periods of time...Or if you flat out can't stand your touchpad/eraser head for any period of time. The size of this mouse is excellent for mobility. It fits into very small spaces, i.e. into a compartment of your notebook carrying case. It's shortened cord (5-ft) is brilliantly employedto accommodate people using it with their laptops. It's never too short, or too long. It's an optical mouse, so you can expect the same razor-sharp accuracy you would with any full-sized optical mice. My notebook is running Windows XP, and interfaces flawlessly with the mouse. I just plugged it in and it worked! No set-up required. Such is not the case with older operating systems, but the mouse comes with an installation disk to guide you through it.

Great mouse!
This is a great mouse for mobile users. It's a minimouse which means it is more compact and smaller than standard mice out there. I can't believe a reviewer complained about the mouse being too small - its supposed to be small! ON that note, it's only about 33% smaller than a regular mouse - making it a bit more convenient for mobile users, while still being large enough to be functional (I have big hands and even I didnt think it was that bad). I also saw people saying it only has a 3 foot long cord, which is false. I just measured the cord and it is almost 6 feet long - plenty of cable, especially since it is designed for MOBILE users and is MEANT FOR USE ON LAPTOPS. If you want a regular sized mouse, get a regular mouse. The small size makes this mouse ideal for people who want to use a real mouse with thier laptops (those touch pads and pointers are a pain) but think a regular mouse is just a bit too bulky to carry around with them everywhere. The mouse is also a USB device, and worked perfectly with plug and play on my windows XP home edition laptop. I plugged it in, and it worked - that was it. They also include a USB to PS/2 adapter - which is nice. Even when using PS/2 as an interface for the mouse I didnt really need to install any drivers for it to work (scroll functions included) and it didnt need batteries or anything like that either, all power came through the cord. This mouse is also an OPTICAL mouse, meaning it has no rubber ball to clean or worry about. This also means that it has very smooth and precise control and can be used on almost any flat, non-reflective surface. This is GREAT for mobile users as you can use the mouse on your thigh or a book - meaning it wont be a pain to use on the bus or plane!! The scroll wheel is great, as expected and means that you dont need to sacrifice funtionality for portabnillity (I cant live without a scroll wheel!). As if that weren't enough, it's extremely light, attractively designed, and is fairly comfortable considering it's small size thanks to an ergonomic design. It is also designed to work for both RIGH AND LEFT HANDED people. A great mouse for people on the go.

Cool little mouse!
Bought this for my 8 month old when she gets a little older. Oh, and apparently Belkin listened to the complaints about the lenght of the cord which is now 5'. Guess they didn't think people would actually be using these on desktops at first.
