For outdated memory, this RAM stick is perfect. Excellent price, since just about all ram is the same. Installation was a snap and the computer recognized it with no problems. Just make sure all your memory is the same type or it won't work. for example this is a PC2100 266MHZ memory module, dont upgrade a computer that has PC3200 already installed. This is a great product at a great price. There is no better way to upgrade your computer's performance than getting more memory. On my PC this was the max that the motherboard could hold. This is a high quality 512 MB RAM upgrade which I can recommend without qualification. I purchased two to replace two 128MB modules and upgrade my readily accessible memory from 256MB to 1 gig--which today's applications seem quickly to be rendering as the default minimum standard. As with any other DIMM RAM Module, the Kingston is literally a snap to install. Even if you've never been inside your computer chassis previously, you should not hesitate to do your own memory upgrade. I added this to my 256mb chip on an E-Machine. It sure speeds up the computer!The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to install this in about 10 minutes and had no problems at all. This was the first time I had done any upgrades on any computer.
My only advise is to be sure you are buying the correct RAM. Just check with the mnfg web site to find what type of and size RAM you need. It might save frustration on getting the wrong RAM and having to return it. | 5 | Today |
