| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Not made in Japan-Returned When received, the package stated "Made in Taiwan". These are not made in Japan like the Taiyo Yuden CDR. I returned and ordered real Taiyo Yuden CDR to make sure of best cdr. | 1 | Today | fugi film cd-r The item that I received wasn't the item pictured. However I opened them and tried one of them. But it doesn't work in my car. I wrote to tell them that it wasn't the color that was pictured and that the cd-r wouldn't work in my car. They said that I could return them. But I wasn't sure that they understood that they had been opened. So I didn't return them. | 3 | Today | Poor Shipping Method Excellent CD-Rs, but the shipping was horrible. Packaging was too flimsy for the weight of the product, and as a result, the case was broken in half upon delivery. Contacted the seller, but never got a response. Will not purchase from them in the future. | 2 | Today | fine, reliable blank CD-R media Fuji makes a very reliable blank CD-R that can handle up to 80 minutes of music or 700 megabytes of data. Moreover, these blank CD-Rs are capable of recording data at high speeds--48x! The data I record onto these CD-Rs has now lasted quite a while--over a year at least--proving the test of time. I have used these as data discs and discs to record audio. I almost never got a coaster. Great!
The CD-R discs are compact and easy to store. While the discs are still blank, store them in the circular case on the spindle that they came in. After your burn data or music onto them, I would recommend storing them in slim jewel cases instead of paper sleeves. It's just better protection for your CD-Rs that have anything stored on them. Don't store these discs, burnt or blank, in rooms that become very hot; this causes damage to any brand of this type of disc and you could lose data over time.
There are two caveats that many other people note about any brand of this product: when you are burning the data onto the blank disc, don't be surprised if you see that the data is burning at a rate slower than the packaging advertises (48x). This can happen if your burner doesn't have the capacity to burn faster, or it may be a quirk. I am not a professional so I cannot be certain of precisely what causes this phenomenon; but I assure you that the extra minute or two (tops) that you wait to get your CD-R completed is worth the wait. In addition, DON'T write on these using Sharpie ink pens. The ink will eventually seep through the top coating of the CD-R disc; and this will slowly but surely compromise your data. If you need to label the discs, label its' jewel case using a post-it note.
Overall, Fuji blank CD-R discs store data reliably and I believe that an extra minute to burn the data onto the blank disc is well worth it in the event that it doesn't actually burn at the very highest speed advertised.
Use them in good health! | 5 | Today | Versatility I was looking for a CD writable disc for my sound system reproduction. These Fujifilm discs are perfect. I have tried others. I didn't see this in the stores. | 5 | Today | Good CD-R's These CD-R's seem to work well. I was expecting ones made from a different country, so I was a little disappointed when I recieved them, but they seem to work well. | 4 | Today | Made in Taiwan, NOT Japan Be careful, not all of these 50-packs are Taiyo Yuden (Japanese made). My spindle came from Taiwan. | 1 | Today | Some Fuji discs not Taiyo Yuden, be careful! Based on some web research, I aquired a fifty pack of Fuji CDR media, because they were made in Japan by Taiyo Yuden. The quality was suberb, not a single coaster while burning data and music at 48x.
When that supply ran dry, I discovered that the 100 packs were made in Taiwan-NOT by Taiyo Yuden. The quality was much worse.
I have since found that some of the fifty packs are also not Japanese made, and hence not Taiyo Yuden.
This probably explains the difference in the reviews here at Amazon. If you find a package of Fuji discs marked "Made in Japan", you are getting good Taiyo Yuden discs, but if they are made elsewhere, don't expect the same quality. | 5 | Today | Good Quality But Failed in Light Fastness Test I bought a spindle of this Fuju CDR made in Japan by TY. Physical quality is number one among the brands that I ever used, burning quality and compatibility are also number one. Then I burned one disc of each brand, and put them on my window for a sun burning test. After 20 days, Fuji lost its color completely, not readable anymore. I was surprised. If you are interested, here is the result for some other brands, Verbatim, can only burn at 16x in my 24x burner, 70% C2 error in old cd drive after 40 days Maxell, can only burn at 8x in my 24x burner, less than 1% C2 error in old cd drive after 40 days, 0% C2 error in cd burner Memorex, can burn at 24x, 30% C2 error on day 1 in old cd drive, 2% C2 error after 40 days in cd burner. Worst compatibility. Fuji, can only burn at 16x, 0% C2 error on day 1 in old cd drive, died after 20 days. Fuji was made in Japan, all others in Taiwan, all rated at 40x or 48x. I will try Maxell CD-R pro next to see how long it will last under the sun. | 2 | Today | Good price but not so good quality I bought these cds a lot of time ago and I remember that I lost 5 cds because of problems in the burning process (10% of Cds was lost). The quality of this CDs is not very good. The upside surface is very vulnerable and you can even scratch it easily only by touching at it. You can easily remove the surface completely! The result is going to be an unusable transparent CD. Many of these discs are right now a waste because of the problems with the surface and hardly will buy cds from this manufacturer again. Though, I understand, it's a good price. Please be aware of the quality. | 2 | Today |
