| Product Reviews from Amazon.com (Rating System 1 to 5) |
| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Logitech Trackman Mouse Works great especially if you have large monitor. It takes a little practice to get used to it. The laser trackball is very smooth and precise. I have found it very comfortable to operate for extended periods.Logitech Trackman Wheel Optical | 5 | Today | Since 2002 What can I add that other reviewers have not already said? How about this- I still have the trackman I bought in 2002. Six years of heavy and abusive use and this thing is still going.
I highly recommend purchasing this device. You will not regret it. | 5 | Today | How to clean your trackball This is less a review then a public service announcement.
Logitech never bothered to tell you how to clean your trackball. Leading many to pan the device because it will crud up.
1) Flip the trackball over. See that hole in the bottom, through which you can see the ball?
2) Take a blunt object (e.g., eraser end of the old #2 pencil) and push that through the hole, popping out the ball itself. Don't let that ball roll too far.
3) Flip the trakball (sans ball) right side up.
4) You'll notice three small ball rollers inside the cavity where the ball once rested. They are likely caked in dirt. You will also notice a window, behind which lies the laser (?) sensor.
5) Take a small pointy object (e.g., the metal tip of a mechanical pencil) and clean the dirt off the rollers. It should just come right off. There is no need to soap & water or other wet cleaners.
6) Just pop the ball back into the trackball.
7) Enjoy. | 5 | Today | optical Track ball The item was shipped in a timely manor, arrived in perfect shape, and was well worth what we paid for it. My husband is getting a lot of use out of it with the laptop computer.
I would DEFINATLY RECOMEND this to anyone who has a laptop computer and limited space. | 5 | Today | Logitech Trackman Great product! I hate having to drag a mouse over a mouse-pad. This product allows me to leave the mouse stationary and just move the ball. It is much easier on the wrist if you use the computer as much as I do. This mouse and an erganomic keyboard could do much to eliminate carpal tunnel syndrome in PC users. Add to that the customizable buttons and it is everything you could want in a user interface! | 5 | Today | This thing rules... I just bought this thing and plugged it into my laptop. Previously I had only used my touchpad and this makes using my computer so much easier. Effortless scrolling and accurate arrow placement. Plus I don't have to do the click-slide-slide-click-slide movement that comes with a conventional mouse. My wife now wants one for her desktop. Trackball: Much more gooder. | 5 | Today | This is the..... BEST mouse!! I love it. This is actually my second one; got my first tracker ball mouse in about 2001. I used it hard for many years~the buttons were no longer responding~had to click several times. I used a regular mouse until my new tracker ball arrived and it brought back the memories of just how hard on the wrist the old "grab and move" mouse is.
If you get tingling fingers and/or your palm hurts, then this is the mouse for you. At first it's takes some getting use to, using your thumb to control the ball. And you may need to adjust the speed at first but the included software is easy to work with.
Logitech makes the best mouse(s). | 5 | Today | Nice but.... Its a nice mouse, but I'm not so sure how much it has helped my carpal tunnel seeing as it did not completely relieve my symptoms. Also its not a very good gaming mouse, seeing as it only has 3 buttons, where as a good gaming mouse usually has more. Over all ,however, it is a very sturdy mouse and feels comfortable in your hand. The rollers under the ball do tend to get dirty however and require cleaning, but cleaning is as simple as wiping off the rollers with your finger.
Getting used to using a track ball from a regular mouse isn't very difficult. If your having hand or wrist problems I would recommend giving it a try as your results may vary from mine, especially if your not as heavy of a computer addict as I am. | 3 | Today | happy Being a long time standard mouse user, I decided to try trackball mice. I initially purchased the logitech marble mouse, however due to its unintuitive scrolling I returned it and tried the trackman instead. At first I was skeptical that my thumb would be comfortable with this mouse, however after a week of using this mouse I have had no problems navigating my computer comfortably. I'm very happy with my decision and will probably use this product for years to come. I would recommend purchasing this at a local electronics store so you could easily return it if you have any issues with it. | 5 | Today | I Needed a Change Due to Repetitive Stress Injury After years of using mice, my fingers, hands and arm just could not take it any longer. Optical mice helped for a while with the carpel tunnel syndrome, but other symptoms arose. Every day after a couple hours at work my fingers would begin to tingle and by then end of the day I could hardly move the mouse anymore. It became physically painful to grasp the mouse so that I could move it. So I bought two Logitech trackballs to try them out. The other unit was the Logitech Optical Marble Mouse (USB/PS2), but that design seemed way too awkward and uncomfortable. This one "fit" better. It took an entire week to get used to the Trackman and before I could control it as well as regular mice. But the downtime was well worth it. I've been using this almost a year now and I can work all day again without any strange sensations in my fingers and hand. | 5 | Today |
