I bought this phone about a year ago and in a few months started having problems with the battery. It simply would not hold charge for more than a hour. Recently it got worse, so I got a brand new 1000 mAH battery and surprisingly still have the same problem. There is some inherent problem with the charging operation of this phone. My advise is - avoid VTECH phones if possible. | 1 | Today | Poor Performer
Not a bad phone if you live in a studio apartment and prefer to talk for less than 15 minutes at a time. I would lose reception when I would move about my small home and the battery would die when talking for any extended amount of time. I recommend a phone with a cord. At least you'll get the same amount of range without the frustration of the limited battery life. | 1 | Today | Horrible just horrible
This is easilly the worst cordless phone I've ever seen. The sound quality is terrible. It make deafening squealing sounds and the battery lasts about 5 minutes. Steer clear of anything by Vtech. | 1 | Today | Not too bad.
I got this phone because I needed a cordless and I heard VTechs were pretty good. I don't get any static unless I walk down the street trying to use it. It's been great for the past 5 months. Unfortunately, the nicd battery sucked, with only 400 mAh of juice, it died everyday. But I bought some 2100 mAh AA and soldered them together and used the old battery's connector. Now the phone lasts forever, it hasn't died on me once. And I've been charging it once a week. Not too shabby. | 4 | Today | Negative Five Stars!

The battery life SUCKS (hello, this is 2004), it wont ever charge properly, when the battery life is dying (conveniently while I'm on the phone) it makes this high pitched "You're phone sucks and you'll lose your call!" sound, right in the ear.

The batteries didn't even last 6 months, plus I found it hard to find a place that sold the batteries since it only takes one type of V-tech battery. The sound quality sucked!!!! The only decent part is the answering machine. Skip getting this one! | 1 | Today | Horrible!
I've had this phone for only about 5 months. What a horrible POS! The sound quality is unbearable, and has been since day one. Whenever I get a call, I pick it up, then immediately head downstairs to pick up my 6 year old vtech which sounds much better. And just recently, the battery refuses to hold any charge, after only 6 months use. Unexcusable. | 1 | Today | Once again, do not buy!
At the recommendation of my boyfriend, I bought this VTech because he raved about VTechs and analog. This phone is the worst phone I've ever had - when the battery dies (which is about after 15 mins on the phone) it cuts your call off. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to throw it out the window or run it over with my car. It just will not hold a charge. The answering machine system works great. I bought this phone about 7 months ago from Target and I'm going to chuck it into the dumpster. It is by far the worst phone I've ever had. Horrible sound quality, low volume, annoying ring tones, the battery dies after about an hour of talk time, the list goes on and on. I'm going back to Panasonic phones because I've always had good luck with them. I will never purchase a V-Tech phone again. If I could give this item 0 stars I would. | 1 | Today | static shmatic
Yes, I hear static to the sound of my own voice, but the programming is easy and controls are very intuitive, especially the scrolling phone book. I even use the extra mailboxes just to store memos. No problems with range, either. Excellent value for features. | 4 | Today |
