The paper loading instructions are totally misleading and worthless and it's impossible to tell which side to print on since both are plain, white, and glossy. I'm sure they sell more paper that way at first, but folks reading these reviews should be prepared for confusion when it comes to knowing which way to load the paper. And at $1/sheet the education process gets expensive. Also, although following instructions explicitly, it took a half hour to 'pick off' (using fingernails) small bits of residue that remained on the material after pulling the main piece of paper off. The image looked good, but we have not stretched or washed the material and are somewhat apprehensive about that, given other reviewers experiences. But for a reasonably quick and special kind of project once in a while, Epson seems to work ok. We'll try HP next time though, since we use one of the higher end HP Photo Printers. Never had much luck with Epson printers. Cheers 3 Today Easy & Nice Results I created a dinosaur cartoon and used this product to transfer it onto white t-shirts. The result was great! I found I had to use a "wool" setting on my iron & make only 3 shirts at a time or I had trouble with scorching & the image peeling. The image finish was matte, not shiny, which looked good & was not stiff to wear. Overall, I would use this product again. It was easy with good results. 5 Today Epson Iron-On Transfer I've used other transfers and this is the best one I've used. After the washing it still retains it's color and did not peel off. I'm so glad I bought this one. 5 Today Worked perfectly for me - a total beginner. I don't even own an iron (I had to borrow one) and I've never made a T-shirt before, but I had to make T-shirts for my whole Geography Bee team in a hurry. I ordered these express (thanks, Amazon, for getting my order to me immediately). They are notched in the corners so you know which way to put them in your printer. I forgot to turn on "mirror image" printing for my first print (oops). Then I got it right. I trimmed tight around the designs, used white T-shirts. Then I took my time ironing - following the directions (30 seconds EACH on each pass, up - down - and swirl around) - about 5 minutes total. I left a little handle and was able to peel off without incident. The T-shirts look AWESOME - just like on screen. They have survived a couple of washes just fine. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread! 5 Today Works great... I've made several shirts with the Epson paper and the results are very good. Other reviewers have had problems using the transfers with non Epson printers and inks but if you stick with Epson products and follow the directions, the shirts come out great. Remember to be patient (the ironing process takes a while), trim the excess transfer paper around your design and you should be ok. Each of the shirts I've made has washed well (remember to wash them inside out to protect the transfer) with little obvious wear. Also, I got slightly better results bumping my printer resolution up to 720dpi and printing for quality rather than speed. Good luck! 5 Today Good Product! This is a good product. It can get scorch easily if you get impaient. Make sure you use a pressing cloth. Over all the colors and design transfered well onto the shirt. 4 Today Nice way to make a personalized t-shirt I am making a bunch of t-shirts for my son's birthday. Epson is the first brand I used and Avery is the second brand. I've never done iron-ons before this. Avery has much brighter colors but it feels more waxy, which I'm not sure will disappear with washing. Epson has duller colors but the less waxy feel is a plus. After washing, it feels even more softer and I don't notice right off that it's an iron-on. After washing, the Epson image is a little faded, but it's not cracked or anything. I'm sure if we had followed washing instructions, the colors would probably be more nicely preserved, but we are too lazy for that. My husband wants me to make him a bunch of shirts now, so I'd say he is impressed enough. 3 Today Which side is which? A simple identification mark on the ironable side would make this product so much more user friendly. I also have a messed up iron and two wasted transfers. None of these iron-on transfer brands are inexpensive products so I recommend that you cut off a piece of the transfer paper, put a mark on it and practice first with some old fabric to see which side is ironable. I have a bottom printer tray and followed their instructions re: cut corner placed appropriately and that was not the correct side. 2 Today Lame Instructions Step.3 ...insert transfer paper with the blank side (printable surface) loaded correctly. Boths sides are blank. I found out the hard way and melted the film on the iron which is now useless. TIP: glossy side is the printable side 2 Today These transfers blow! I am comparing these transfers to the HP transfers for colored shirts. these require a reverse image and are just not user friendly. after three unsuccessful attempts I just went back to the more expensive HP's.
