This iron made a few waffles fine. But subsequent attempts to make waffles have always resulted in such bad sticking that the waffle pulls apart when I open the iron. I have consulted others to resolve the problem and cannot. I blame a faulty Teflon finish.

This was the first waffle maker I ever bought. I was looking for one that was reasonably priced and had many good customer reviews. This one seemed to fit the bill. However, after only three uses it broke. I tried to use it this weekend for the fourth time (unit is less than a year old) and after making one waffle it made an odd clicking noise. After that it stopped working altogether. I am very disappointed as I thought Cuisinart was a respectable and quality brand. I will be very hesitant of buying any Cuisinart products in the future and don't recommend this product. | 1 | Today | Perfect
I love this waffle maker! It's the best one I've ever had. I have been making waffles with it for 4-5 years, and it works as perfectly now as it ever did. I have never greased the plates, but the waffles slip out easily every time, and still have a nice, crispy crust. | 5 | Today | Good - until it breaks and Cuisinart won't answer the phone
We were pretty happy with this unit, but it mysteriously stopped working after less than a year. I took it out of the cabinet and plugged it in and nothing happened.
So I call the Cuisinart Customer Service # listed in the manual: 800-726-0190:
Try #1: I press 1 as directed and am immediately disconnected.
Try #2: Busy signal
Try #3: Repeat of #1
Try #4: Repeat of #1
Try #5: I *DON'T* press 1, and it sounds like I am being transferred to a human as I am disconnected.
Try #6: Repeat of #5
Try #7: I press 1 and (joy!) finally hear a "your call is important to us" recording, which repeats periodically. After 3 minutes I am told that they suggest I call back later or press 1 to leave a message, otherwise I can keep holding. I keep holding, the suggestion is repeated, and I am disconnected without warning.
I don't know how you make something as simple as a waffle iron stop working so quickly. We never dropped it, ran it through the dishwasher, or otherwise abused it. I'm an engineer and I dismantled it to try to find any obvious blown fuse or loose connector, but no luck. It just quietly died in the cabinet.
But I'm really amazed that a company the size of Cuisinart can simply be unable/unwilling to have a working customer service department. But even if they would pick up the *%$@#ing phone, the manual says that they charge you TEN DOLLARS in S&H for in-warranty replacement.
I'm going to throw out my waffle iron and the 2+ years left on its warranty and buy a replacement from ANY OTHER company. This was simply inexcusable. | 1 | Today | Fast and crispy, please!

I don't actually own this product. I gave it as a gift to a friend for her wedding, but I'm sure it's a great product. But I keep getting asked to review this product, and you'd think that since I actually had it shipped to someone other than myself that you'd realize that I haven't actually used it. I guess not, though. So I figure if I just write this review you'll at least quit asking me to review it. I bought this intent on making waffles on a regular basis, which I've been doing with this fine unit. It's my first iron, and out of the box it felt a bit flimsy. The top half seemed loose. But plugging it in and pouring on the first batter showed that this 'give' was not any problem, and the waffles come out perfect each time. And it is a COMPLETELY NON-STICK APPARATUS that gives up the waffles with no problems. You can pluck 'em right off with a fork and to the plate, in perfect condition. What I do, is I make my first waffle, plate it, pour the second and then lift the first up onto the top of the unit. As the second waffle gives of copious steam, and the iron is now VERY HOT (be careful), placing the first waffle on top keeps it nice and warm. Remarkable!! Also, the color indicated timer is great. When the setting is on 4, and that light turns green you know that your waffle is right where you want it to be. I tried adding a few Grape Nuts to the mix, with interesting results. Soon, I will be pouring eggs into the iron in my first experiment intended on cooking the world's first "Wafflet". Get it? :-) | 5 | Today | Fantastic Wafflemaker!
