| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Great product, perfect for cooks. I've had this product for a couple of years now. I use it almost exclusively instead of my large oven. I bought six-cup muffin tins and I bake muffins, I've baked cakes and breads in it. The convection feature is divine, and although it doesn't speed up the cooking, it makes my pastries super flaky and my cakes moist, so I love it.
I've made lasagne (8X8 pan)in it. I've roasted chickens and broiled steaks in it. I basically use this oven for everything. Everything but actually making toast, because I have a toaster for that.
My only issue with this appliance is the enormous quantity of heat it gives off. It makes me think that it may not be as energy-efficient as the oven, since although an oven is bigger, it's much more insulated, holding in its heat.
At any rate, my oven is big and I use it to store my cast iron cookware, and since it's a pain to pull that stuff out, I use this DeLonghi almost exclusively, except at holiday dinners.
and at holidays, as another reviewer mentioned, I can bake pies in this, while using my large oven for turkey.
This is a great appliance, and I LOVE it. | 4 | Today | Best I have had This is the best small oven I have ever had. Efficient, compact, powerful, easy to use and quiet. I had the cuisinart and it was fine for a few years, it was ver loud, and the front cracked apart and within months stopped working. Had the haier for one day and hated it, loud, loud, loud.
I have only had the Delonghi one week and already have used all functions except the pizza function. So far I really like it. | 4 | Today | Amazing oven! I can pretty much quit using my big oven. We previously had a small Krups toaster oven, which, while very, very good, was not quite big enough for me. It seemed wasteful to heat up the big oven just to bake six biscuits, or roast a medium sized roast, so we went to this model. What a joy it has been. It takes longer to preheat than my small oven, which makes sense, since it's bigger, duh.
Who the heck thinks this oven is too small? It's huge! I can easily fit a casserole pan inside. The convection feature is fantastic, my buttermilk biscuits have NEVER been so tasty. I can even bake cakes and things of that nature inside. The door seals securely.
I've also broiled duck legs and steaks inside and they turn out juicy.
Unfortunately, I bought the demo model, and some of the pieces for the rotisserie are missing. Delonghi has promised to ship them, and I am crossing my fingers it all works out. If it doesn't, you can be sure I will post here, ripping them mercilessly.
Additionally, this oven is going to allow me to ditch my microwave, which is great, since my foodie self thinks microwaves are kind of tacky. This oven has basically replaced our big oven, which now is only used for cast iron skillet storage.
I don't know how it works for toast, since we have an actual toaster. It seems it'd be rather wasteful to try to use this ginormous oven for toast, but I guess if you were making a ton of toast it would make sense.
I highly recommend this product. I rave about it to everyone I know. | 5 | Today | Delonghi AD1099 There is not enough room here to describe the problems with this piece of junk! Beware. I just wasted $387.00 and no one will help. Stop on door closes to 3" instead of 3/4", outside of oven gets as hot as the inside, minus button for temp and time does not work and the crumb tray is impossible to remove for cleaning. The energy rating for this oven has to be approaching zero. | 1 | Today | No Warranty I purchased this item from antother very reputable on line retailer. It was missing some parts and had Styrofoam packing lodged behind the circulating fan. Delonghi instructed me to return it to a warranty repair center. It was returned in worse condition with parts missing, and now Delonghi tells me that I have to take up the issue with UPS. Their warranty is less than "lip service". | 1 | Today | Easy Cooking Oven DeLonghi Oven AD1099 cooks as a great second oven. The convection oven cooks evenly, fast and browns roasts great. The broiler works as well. For the price and size of the oven, it's a great value and addition to your kitchen. | 5 | Today | It;s too small!!! What pans are going to fit in this thing? Doll house kitchen equipment?
The shallow pan looks like it could hold a cup and a half of stuff.
Must I do Casseroles in loaf pans? (loaf pans look doubtful too with the size of this thing.) Dinner could take hours to cook for three people. Well, I guess we will eat in shifts. | 2 | Today | Great oven, with shut off timer, but Very easy to use and clean and setup and nice looking. This oven will accomodate a full size dinner plate inside, where most toaster ovens will not. The shutoff timer is really great. The only drawback for us is that it needs some insulation. You can pre- heat your dinner plates on top of this oven, no need to put them inside. I suppose that all toaster ovens are like this, they get hot on the outside too. Somewhat a waste of energy, but more efficient than heating a full 30 inch oven to heat something small. We are pleased though, but room for improvement, like everything else, except my Wife. | 4 | Today | Good oven I've had this oven for about 2 years now. I really like the Rotisserie function. I use it quite a lot. In my experience the convection setting doesn't reduce cooking time. It would be nice if this also could function as a toaster oven eg make toast, or grilled cheese sandwiches. For the most part I like it; but, I am not overly enthusiastic about it. | 4 | Today | Perfection This was exactly what my girlfriend and I needed. We have a galley kitchen (read: closet with a sink). Our landlord got this off of eBay for about half price as a refurbished model. When we got it, I knew to expect that the door wouldn't close tightly but found the direction call for the door to be in an open position for a couple of the cooking functions anyway so some heat escape it disireed.
We've cooked pizzas using the pizza function and they come out perfectly using one of the settings. The crust is lightly browned without being hard and is very moist. I cooked some brownies that didn't turn out great, but I think the recipe was the reason they didn't taste good, not the oven.
This is a great little oven that holds a surprising amount of food and doesn't take up a lot of space. In an apartment it is just right. It's nice being able to set the timer and walk away from and come back to find the food finished, not having to hang around and keep an eye on things in case they burn. Also, the light inside is always on when cooking and the glass door allows you to watch the progress with ease. A full size oven (at keast the ones found in apartments) don't have clear glass doors or timers.
I would recommend this to just about anyone, especially single people and seniors. | 5 | Today |
