| Product Reviews from Amazon.com (Rating System 1 to 5) |
| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Hot tip - Buy this and you will love it! This is the best working convection oven/toaster I've tried and I've tried a bunch of them + it looks great in all types of kitchens; we even bought a second one to use in our camper! | 5 | Today | Runs like its defective Our replaced $20 toaster toasts toast much faster than this thing. The timer goes to high (that's a joke) and toast is ready only before high setting, which takes about 4-5 minutes. Anything more than simple toast you have to reset the timer to high, and you can't stop the time or turn it forward for those times that you have to keep cooking toast but don't want to burn it in the second or third cycle.
Would send it back if the return systme for Amazon wasn't so
aggravating.
Will not buy any kitchen items from Amazon or Delonghi again!
There are too many working kitchen items at the store, that if they don't work, you can actually return them with no fuss!
I am out over $160.00 for this non-working overpriced supposed toaster oven. Next time I am going to a store!
| 1 | Today | 7 years and still cookin' I love this toaster/convection oven. I use it for everything, leftover, frozen food and toast. I got it for a bridal shower gift back in 1999. I use it daily and it almost works as well as it did 7 years ago. The reason being is that the door doesn't close all the way, there's about 1-cm gap. but that just came about within the last few weeks. I think the spring to the door might be detached, but i can't get to it. It still cooks fine, but my engineer husband thinks it's not as efficient. It stays reasonably clean too. I'm getting another one!!!
| 5 | Today | NOT recommended I've gone through quite a few toaster ovens over the last 20years. Since I am such a heavy user, I decided maybe the 'you get what you pay for' philosophy might be worth the investment. I purchased this 2yrs ago @ BB & B. It's going in the trash today. One by one the heating elements bent &/or failed outside the warranty period. Once the bottom elements bent, you can no longer remove the crumb tray.
The door hinges warp so that the door won't close. Definitely NOT worth the money and lasted no longer than a $40 B&D. WHEN it worked, it was fine for meats, broiled fish, meatloaf, cassaroles & baked potatoes - but nothing to rave over and certainly no better than a std B & D model.
Don't even THINK about baking cookies or biscuits. It's horrible for 'toast'. I found the best way to make toast was to preheat the toaster..and stand watch. Don't use the toast timer unless you want keep turning the bread and resetting the timer. The convection fan runs during toasting which dries out the bread.
It does come with some handy pans and baking sheets which I'm holding onto as I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Cuisinart TOB-175BC Convection Toaster Oven/Broiler. I will review there after some experience with it. | 1 | Today | Don't know how I ever lived without it!!! I ABSOLUTELY love my Delonghi Airstream (AS670) Convection Toaster Oven!! No more waiting for the oven to heat up. Cuts cooking time in half. Easy clean-up...and the accessories are awesome. You get a 2 wire cooking racks, 2 cookie sheets, 1 baking pan with broiler insert, and a untensil to help pull out hot rack and pans!
So easy to use. I haven't used my BIG oven since the Delonghi came to stay.
Makes wonderful toast and great to use for just about anything.
I highly recommend this product to anyone out there, especially Mom's with little time on their hands.
Would be great as a wedding present, house-warming present, or great for college kids who don't have an oven to cook things in!!!
The best thing about it is the price is out of this world! Very affordable! | 5 | Today | Most Useful Appliance I use this appliance everyday for everything from toast to broiling fish. It is very handy for simple everyday cooking. The temperature setting seem to fairly accurate and the convection option can really speed things up. I gave it 4 stars because my heating elements have bent quite a bit over time and will probably need to be replaced soon. I don't know if that's so unreasonable though, since I have used this product at least once a day for nearly two years. | 4 | Today | Doesn't Last For what I paid for this oven, I expected it to last longer. The heating rods on the bottom bent to the point that I couldn't get the lower rack in. According to the manufacturer, it is normal for the rods to bend. I don't think so! Since it is just out of warranty, it will cost $40 to fix. According to the repair service, the reason this happens is that the rods that bend were defective when manufacturered. Unfortunately, the manufacturer won't pay for the repair since the unit is older than one year. I would never buy another Delonghi.
I gave it one star because it bakes pretty well. | 1 | Today | Great... when it works I purchased this oven 1.5 yrs ago and loved it. I use it anytime I can over my regular oven because it cooks better- more evenly, heats faster, and does a great job of convection baking. The problem is the quality. The door does get hot, but after 1 year, the knob broke off that sets the function, so it's stuck on toast forevermore. I do think it would be an improvement if they made it a little taller - sometimes it's good to have more height than the bottom rack setting allows.
The feet on the bottom were never right, but that didn't seem to affect performance, so I ignored it. Overall I'd have to say the quality is among the worst out there. Great idea, bad implementation. | 1 | Today | Really an oven that toasts I've been using mine for years, and it is a fantastic machine! It really is a small convection oven that toasts, broils, etc. in addition. We use it for all our cooking needs from cooking small roasts and chicken to making pizza or cookies and cakes. Anything you can bake in a normal oven cooks better in a convection oven. No Thanksgiving turkeys or whole legs of lamb fit in this one, but how often do you do that anyway? We also cook all sorts of frozen foods and heat restaurant leftovers - even fried stuff reheats like new. Try that in your regular oven! | 4 | Today | Our 2nd most used appliance in the kitchen I don't understand the diverse opinions on this appliance. We have had ours for over 4+ years and absolutely love it. We have not experienced any of the problems that others complain about. Ours makes great toast albeit, slightly slower than a conventional slot toaster. But, it is so very even that my wife prefers it. I still use the conventional slot toaster because it is a bit faster. But for everyting else, the DeLonghi is great. We've never had a problem with the door or the fit or finish of this product. We've never had a single plastic knob or part breaking. And, we use it multiple times on a daily basis. Only the microwave gets used more often. Jim | 5 | Today |
