This game was the reason i got the GameBoy Micro. I couldn't find it in Australian stores, so i bought it online. Its deceptively simple game play, based on buying munitions (from soldiers through to war planes) and attempting to defeat the enemy under in various way under various circumstances, allows for a surprising amount of engaging variation.

This is the series that has taken the GBA platform by storm. And Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising does not disappoint. On the contrary, Nintendo has proven that lightning does strike twice.
I'll keep this brief : if you like war strategy games, there is not a better GBA example. Great game balance, tons of replay value, killer soundtrack. A must have game, in my book...

First of all, I wish to apologize. I am writing this review on my fathers laptop, and the keyboard is hard to use, so my spelling my not be the best.
Also, I will write AW2 instead of Advance Wars 2 because that title is to long.
Anyways, After someone stole my copy of AW2, I stopped playing my gameboy. Why? Because AW2 was better than all of my oher ames combined. It is a statagy game that lets you build different units from your ports (for sea units), air ports (for air units) and barracks (land units). You cn also capture cities, for funding, and launch devastating missiles from silos, not to mention all the lasers and volanos in the campain. The campain is very long, so you won't get bored very quickly. Plus, once you do finish thecampain, you can fight skirmishs and make your own maps.
The different COs and thier weakneses, strengths, and powers make for an interesting stratigic twist.
If you ever get bored of this game, I'll eat my ears. Really. It's that good. | 5 | Today | The greatest handheldgame in AGES!

I as soon as I played this game I loved it I Thought it was THE BOMB! I think this game is really good even if you beat it the game keeps you entertained because some characters are hard to get. Want to cut to the chase and start kicking butt? Drop the lame RPGs (the gameboy RPGs stink) and let the battles begin. There are tons of maps, more COs, improved enemies and special powers, and the campaign is tough but fun. You'll need your thinking cap for this one... the strategies seem simple until you get the snot beat out of you a few times, then you realize the subtle skills and tactics you need to fight your way to the top. The cartoon style appeals to me very much, it is absolutely gorgeous and you can save everything, anytime, and you can customize a lot.
I played about 10 maps, and played the campaign about 70% until it became too hard for me. The maps are very well thought of, and most have some "spark of genius" inside them that you need to discover in order to win the battle.
The game is IDEAL if you go by train to work, shoot a few units down and there you are! | 5 | Today | The Best Strategy Game For GBA I've Ever Played
This game is aewsome. You follow the mission objectives (usually destroy your opponent), build powerful armies, and conquer your world back. The map designer is a great feature in this game for you have almost no limits. The backround music is cool, the graphics are aewsome, and the different units are so unique.
