Mouse ok but keyboard does't work
No matter how hard I tried, the keyboard would never sync. The tech support was useless too.

Piece of Junk
I concur with the other negaative reviews. I cannnot useee thee thing aand hd to replacee it. No matter how fresh the batteries the signal is veeery weak. Even from a distance of 4-5 inches from the transmitter the keyboard mises about 1/3 of the key strokes or erverses the order of the eltters.Youuu neeever nkow wat wil coome out. Even a brief exxxcursion onlineee can be veeery frustratingggg.

Very poor quality product
I would not recommend this product. Had to return it after my patience in coping with its problems ran out. The problems are the same as other users mention in their reviews: 1. Using the mouse together with Shift or Option keys, for instance, when selecting multiple items, is impossible most of times, even when the batteries are fresh. This action freezes the mouse, unless you place the transmitter very close - 2-5 inches away. 2. The keyboard keys skip letters or get stuck all the time resulting in multiple letter entriessssssssssssssssssssss, it is even worse when the Backspace key or an Enter repeats itself endlessly. It feels like the plastic pads underneath the keys are not flexible enough and do not pop back up after the key is released. 3. The signal transmission range is very poor, again, even if the batteries are new or freshly charged. I ended up putting the transmitter just some 10 inches from the mouse. 4. The keyboard controls, such as Volume also works poorly, it either cranks the sould all the way up, or needs to be repeatedly pressed in order to get any response. It can be attributed to the overall poor keyboard key input quality. Do not waste your money on this product, because you will be wasting your time eventually.

Wireless Optical Desktop for Mac - Oh, really?!
I decided on this keyboard primarily because of the 22 Hotkeys feature. I'm running 10.4 Tiger OS and, as recommended, I downloaded Kensington's latest driver. Well, guess what? Their latest software hasn't been updated since 12-2003, which barely covers 10.3 Panther OS! It may work just fine with Panther - I don't have any way to check - but most of the hotkeys (and who knows what else?) simply do not function with Tiger. I'm not going with a lower rating only because I'm guessing this is probably a decent product when used with an older Mac OS. But come on Kensington - if you're going to market a product for Mac, the least you could do is make some effort to keep your drivers current with the latest Mac OS!

Terrible product
I have never been as disappointed in a computer peripheral as I am with this keyboard. For starters, the mouse never worked - it shipped DOA. The keyboard was constantly skipping letters and duplicating entries. The only troubleshooting for this symptom from the manufacturer was to "re-sync" the keyboard with the base station. I did this several times, and still got results like ttttthis. I adjusted the keypress speed and repeat in the control panel with no luck. I cannot recommend this product to anyone.

It's pretty good
I have a G5 imac and have been using the Kensington keyboard for about a month. I don't use that many of the extra keys for the "additional" functions except for the volume controls and eject for the DVD/CD. I have had some problems with the sleep function, it reverts to a dialogue screen asking for a confirmation for the sleep function vs. shutdown/restart/cancel sleep. Kind of irritating when I'm just trying to get the machine to sleep as fast as I was used to with the wired keyboard. The mouse tracks well enough for web and word processing.

Acceptable Keyboard - Sub Par Mouse
I recently replaced my aging PC with an iMac G5, and immediately went shopping for a replacement mouse and keyboard (the original Apple keyboard isn't so bad, but the one button mouse is a pain to get used to). So my first stop was the Kensington Wireless Optical Desktop. After reading a number of good reviews, and given it was apparently designed FOR the Mac, I made the purchase. After using the mouse and keyboard for a few days - I have to say I was very disappointed: The Keyboard: ------------- [PROS] 1. Rather ergonomic, Mac-specific layout. 2. Color coordinates with most current Apple computers (iMac et al) 3. Wireless w/ rechargeable batteries included. [CONS] 1. Tactile feel that will take getting used too. 2. Chunky design. 3. No USB inputs (common and useful on most Mac-oriented keyboards) The Mouse: ---------- [PROS] 1. Wireless w/ rechargeable batteries included. [CONS] 1. Horrible ergonomics. Horrible - even compared to the one-button Apple mouse that comes with the iMac. Overall, I was disappointed in the setup given the price and reviews. And yes, I understand this is a very subjective domain, as everyone has their own preference for how they want the keyboard to feel, and how big or small your hands are will determine what mouse is a "good fit" - but after being a devout Logitech user for years, I gave Kensington a shot and was disappointed with this product. I returned everything and purchased the Macally ICEKey Keyboard and RFMouse, which are both faaaaaaantastic - but that's another review. Enjoy!

There is a problem with using the keyboard and the mouse
Andy Reed stated below that he has had trouble with using the mouse while keys such as Shift or Option are held down. I can confirm that I've had this problem as well. However, it is intermittent. I first bought this keyboard and mouse maybe a year ago. They keyboard had this problem, then it went away. Then I had to send in the entire keyboard for another problem and they sent me a new one. But the new one does it as well. Every now and then it goes into this mode where the mouse won't respond while the shift key (etc.) is held down. It's occuring now to me. It happened this time after the batteries in the keyboard ran down and I replaced them. I've tried resynching the keyboard with no luck. Anyway, looks like some users will have this problem, and others will be more lucky. But I have had 2 that have this problem. *ADDED 10 MINUTES LATER* Just after posting my review, the batteries in the *mouse* died. When I replaced them, the shift key problem was gone! So maybe this is a solution: if you get this problem, try replacing the batteries in your mouse, even if the mouse appears to work otherwise. If the problem can easily be solved like this (and it happens pretty rarely anyway), I would give this product 5 stars. I do love the scroll wheel. Get one - it'll change your life!

An incredible keyboard for Macs
This is truly a phenomenal keyboard and mouse. Being wireless is absolutely beautiful, the receiver charging the batteries and running off a USB port is nothing short of brilliant, and the hot keys are a joy to use. A previous review stated that you cannot use the keyboard and mouse simultaneously, which is ridiculous. I have had no problems doing shift clicks or any other type of procedure in which keyboard and mouse are communicating at the same time. The drivers for the mouse are excellent; just about everything imaginable is configurable, and you can even have different configurations for different programs (which can be extremely useful). My only complaint with the mouse is that it is slightly smaller than I like; I had an old Microsoft Intellimouse that I loved because it fit my hand so well. This mouse isn't bad, it's just a little small for me. Definitely stylish, though. My major irk with the whole device is that you can't configure most of the hot keys (and the internet hot keys don't work with Firefox, only Safari or IE). The iTunes keys and such work beautifully, though, making it well worth it for me. I originally had some trouble with the home page that the WWW hot key would open, but figured out that it was set in the Internet System Preference Pane (under the Web tab). This keyboard is much quieter and easier to use than the standard Apple keyboards, and with all its extra features it's an absolute steal. I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone who wants to go wireless with style.

No Problems and Great Product!!! Do your research for price
Im 14 and really into cpu's. I ordered this product from another store that I wont mention but as soon as i got it i hooked the reciever up and put in the batteries in the keybard, mouse, and reciever. Then hooked up the usb reciever. Then i looked around for the ac adapter and realized there was none. This thing amazingly runs off usb power and charges the batteries. Also, have none of that combination of clicking while pressing a key like some said.
