Stops Working
I had the same experience that someone else had. When I first bought this, it worked great, but after a while, the range got worse and worse. I finally moved the transmitter about a foot away from the keyboard and mouse and they wouldn't work. I changed the batteries and that did not help. I don't know if this eventually happens with all wireless keyboards, but I would not recommend buying this one.

Refurbished means dirty, not sure if it works
Haven't plugged this in. It is supposed to be refurbished. Took a long time to get here and is filthy. It would take me 20-30 minutes to clean it up so I will probably just give it to someone and buy a new one. A waste of money. I did not buy this from Microsoft. Bought it from some other source online.

Microsoft Wireless Optical keyboard and mouse
Bought this product for our daughter for Christmas. She loved it so much, her sister bought one later. Very convenient.

Great feel
The mouse just snugs into your palm. Sips on battery ; so it lasts forever. Would buy it again.

Great while it lasted
I bought this set a while ago and it was great. Everything worked fine although sometime the keyboard would lose reception if it was at a bad angle. About a year later it just stopped working. When I insert new batteries it works for about 5 min and then stops again with the light on the mouse turning off. I would not recommend buying this is you need to use it for longer than a year.

Great desktop combo!
When I connected this set to my PC, at first i was receiving some problem about the USB malfunctioning, that was probably just my computer though because after a few seconds the problem went away and i was able to use the keyboard and mouse. It did not come with any drivers but that wasn't a problem, I easily downloaded and installed them from Microsoft.com. This set is great and I would recommend it to anyone.

Nice set for price
I was really looking forward to eleminating the wires on the keyboard and mouse and this set certainly accomplished that. I have had no problems with the range of this set but they are always within 3-4 feet of the reciever. They keyboard types well and has an excellent feel to it. I enjoy the extra function buttons along the top (particularly the calculator) and they are easily customizable to whatever you want. However, like many of the other posts mention the f-lock button is rather annoying but with the limited amount I use them this is not a huge problem. The mouse did not live up to my expectations. It functions like your standard optical mouse and the buttons and scroll wheel work fine. However, my biggest problem is it can be jerky and slow especially when rappidly moved across the screen. I also do editing and I have found when trying to point out a small spot on the screen the mouse has trouble being accurate. When moved short distances it has the habit of jumping past my point. Changing the mouse sensitivity didn't help. I am thinking of switching back to my corded optical mouse. Overall, I am pleased with the design and functionality of the keyboard, but the mouse could use some improvement in accuracy. If you are looking for a cheep way of elimating some cords around your desktop and don't need pinpoint accuracy give this a try otherwise spend a little more and purchase a higher quality set.

Would be a great keyboard/mouse set if they worked properly
I really wanted to like this keyboard and mouse but I've just had so many problems with them that I'm taking them back. First the good things: - Lots of shortcut buttons to things like e-mail, browser, etc. - Fairly solid design - I like the way the keyboard was slightly curved but not too much like the Microsoft "Natural" keyboard Now the bad... It wasn't long after I bought the keyboard and mouse that the left mouse button stopped working intermittently. I read other reviews that said the same thing so I tried taking one of the batteries out but that didn't solve the problem. It's very frustrating to be trying to work and to have to click maybe ten times on a link or button in order for anything to happen. I have bought a replacement wired mouse and have that connected as well as this combo. After I've tried left-clicking ten times using the wireless mouse with no response, I use the second mouse as my "left-click" device. As soon as my replacement wired keyboard arrives, I'm taking this piece of junk back. As well as the left mouse button not working more often than not, the mouse isn't very ergonomic. With my hand on the mouse, I use my thumb and little finger to pick up and move the mouse on the mouse pad. The mouse shape is such that this is not easy to do. It's difficult to describe but the mouse has a very fat bottom (at "desk-level") and then it gets skinny at an elevation of about 0.5" above desk-level. So trying to pick it up from the bottom with my thumb and little finger sometimes causes my thumb and little finger to slip "up" the mouse. Sounds a bit rude but I hope you get what I mean. The last thing is that the keys can't keep up with my typing. I don't think I'm that fast a typer but maybe this is a general problem with wireless keyboards (hence my getting a wired keyboard replacement). When I type words that end in "rt", it misses the "t" almost every time. I work for a company that does reporting so I type the word "report" a lot and it's extremely annoying to have to go back and fill in the "t"s all the time. Also, the shift key seems to stay down for longer than it should. I occasionally get two capitalised letters at the beginning of a word instead of one. Maybe it's the design of the keyboard that's causing my finger to linger longer than usual on the Shift key rather than a problem with the signal but whatever it is, it doesn't happen on other keyboards. And the last thing is that the space bar doesn't register about 20% of the time. There have been other dropped letters too but these are the ones I noticed most. So, there you have it. This review hasn't been as bad for the second half because my new keyboard arrived half way through me typing it (whoopee!) so everything's back to normal. It's another MS keyboard, by the way - a "Digital Media Pro" for $22.77 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002CPBUK/qid=1125618901/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-7709379-7980766?v=glance&s=pc&n=507846) and it's great so far! Not a single dropped character.

Mouse doesn't work on black surface.
Overall the product is fine though it is cheaply looked. One caution is that the mouse doesnot work on my black desk.
