First of all I would like to say something: Amazon is an international online superstore (Earth biggest selection), I hope Amazon agree with me on this, so the point is, why do you expect to find products designed for the states only?
The item part number is [LE1200I] I for international if you want the US version go for [LE1200].
Please allow me to give you an advice:
"You should always check with the manufacturer web site first before buying and pick the product you want, write down the exact part number and then see if you can find it at Amazon."
Anyway, The APC LE1200I is a very good product, it protects you from under-voltage, over-voltage, black-outs, brown-outs, surges, spikes and provides EMI/RFI noise filtration. The product accepts 200V-250V and can output 220V, 230V and 240V (selectable).
It's continues power output is 1,200 VA, it can stand up to 5.2 Amp at rated voltage. There are front leds to indicate voltage condition (Low - Correct - High) and there is a master on/off switch. Also there is an auto thermal push fuse, so if you overload the unit it will just pop out the button and then you can press it back in after it cools down.
The down part is: At the time I purchased this unit I couldn't find line conditioners from APC which provide more than 1200 VA. By today's terms this is low power for a sound system, PC, power amplifier, etc. I wish they would make 2K VA and more.
Second, unlike the older model [APC LE1250/APC LE1250I] which was housed in a metal case, this new model is housed in a plastic case, it does get hot to the touch if you work it 24/7, I use it in a temperature controlled room so I don't suffer much from the heat problem but for 2 days my AC unit was broken and by the end of those 2 days the APC unit was hot. However, the heat problem didn't cause any problems so far (using it for more than a year).
The unit power cord ends with a IEC 7 side-ground male plug and provides 4 outlets, but another down side is that the 4 jacks are not standard, they only accept that kind of plug which was used before with power supplies when we used to connect the monitor directly to the PSU unit, if you know what I mean or remember how that male plug looks like then you know what I mean. I'm sorry if I couldn't explain. However APC makes up for this by providing two of those plugs but they can only be connected to a PSU!.
Well, all in all it's a good product and does the job right. If you don't require more than 1,200 VA, can cope with the heat problem and know how to work around the 4 non-standard jacks then this is the unit for you.
I got one a year ago and going to buy another one and use them in parallel because I upgraded my sound system and now I require more power.

The unit shipped minus the power cord, The unit does not have standard plugs on the back so you can't plug in normal electronics item into it. The voltage of the unit is for 220v and higher, RE you can't use it in the United States. I call Ritz and asked for a refund they said yes then sent me an email saying they won't take it back. I replied to the email and explained the unit was unusable in the United States. They still refuse. The vendor is selling unusable goods that they won't refund and they know it. I ordered this unit and while preparing to set it up I noticed that there is a switch on the back to set the "input voltage" for the unit. None of the choices matched the voltage in the USA so I contacted APC to find out what gives. APC replied that the Line-R units with model numbers ending in "I" were international models that weren't meant to be used in the USA and that I should return the unit for a refund (which I did). | 1 | Today |
