can't live with out my IPAQ
I am formerly a Palm user, and can't get enough of the IPAQ. I use this multiple times a day (every day) and have never been disapointed.

I'm surprised by the problems
I've had my 4155 for almost 3 years and am shocked by the screen problems people have commented on here. I've never had any issue with the lcd and have dropped my unit multiple times (this is an understatement since I'm a clutz). It is carried with me and used often thoughout the day. I have no issues with the wifi and really have no complaints. I have not been cautious with the touchscreen and it is scratched in places (different from the lcd breaking) so I would advise anyone who is buying one to use a good screen protector from the beginning. Also, don't let the battery die because it will hard reset and you'll have to put all your programs back on. Best to back it up weekly or so using the backup utility it comes with and putting the backup on a storage card. Good luck with your purchase!

Great Balance of Size and Features
I have owned the iPAQ 4155 for 11 months now (after replacing a 3600 series) and have used it every day since. I can say that it has met or exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. The battery life exceeds 3 days of normal use for me (I haven't seen the battery below about 40 percent even after 3+ days of no charging). The wireless is fairly easy to setup to get on the internet, although I have not found this feature as useful as I thought. More complex wireless operations, like setting up a virtual desktop, are not as straight forward and the entire wireless configuration - asking weather a wireless connection is for "work" or "the internet" - could be simplified (what if it is both?) and have some bugs removed. That being said, I have rarely found the desire/need to get onto a wireless connection once the newness wore off. This may be different if you spend a lot of time at the airport, Starbucks, or other places w/wireless access. The LCD screen is bright and highly visible even in relatively bright light. I have not had a single problem with the LCD screen cracking (and I have owned at least 8 iPAQ's for employees) but I have been careful to protect mine with a metal case such as the one from Innopocket. (The included case does not go too far towards protecting the iPAQ.) Some sort of protective case is vital if you plan to take your iPAQ anywhere at all because the screen is fragile and leaning up against something with it in your pocket will surely crack it if it is not protected. (I have been surprised at the scratches, dings, and warping I have done to the metal case after walking around a jobsite for an hour with my iPAQ in my pocket - but NO damage to the device itself.) One final note: I have not had very much luck at all with "travel sync/chargers" I have purchased which intend to sync and charge the device simultaneously via USB. I have gone back to syncing via infrared (which is pretty straightforward) and charging with the supplied AC charger. I give the iPAQ 4 stars only because the wireless is somewhat problematic (I have had to "reset" it a number of times), otherwise I would give it 5. -- It really deserves 4.5 but that is not an option.

lcd cracked
I advise you don't buy this model. I was given one by my company. I used it briefly, then carefully placed it in it's case in my desk drawer. After a few months I decided to start using it again, but found that the LCD screen (under the glass) had multiple cracks all over it. I could hardly believe my eyes since I had put it away specifically to prevent it getting broken, and somehow it broke on it's own!?

Screen cracked twice for no reason
I found it cracked one day. No drops, no nothing. Like a fool I got it repaired only to see it crack again in a different location a few months later. The first time it was the outer glass layer craking from the upper corner. Second time it was a horizontal crack in the LCD layer. Now it's trash. They made it small, but not sturdy enough. It flexes in your pocket even in a case. Stay totally away from this and live happier for it.

breaks easily/customer support is a joke
display screen cracks easily. to make matters worse, don't spend the extra money to buy the protective case because the closure magnets on it also cause the screen to crack. when you call customer service, they charge at least $175 to repair and are very rude.

breaks easily, can't be repaired cheaply
I purchased an HP IPAQ 4155 several months ago and was initially impressed with its functionality and power. However, the touch-screen fractured shortly thereafter, rendering it useless. I don't recall placing any stress on the screen or striking it, but it fractured while sitting in my pocket in its 'protective' case. Very fragile. The replacement touch screen cost $85 (I was just replacing the touch screen, not the LCD itself)! My trouble was only beginning. I am a trained computer technician, but I could not even OPEN up the damn unit to replace the touch screen without the case breaking into pieces. What a rip-off. They purposefully designed the unit so that you have to buy a new one if anything breaks, or send it in to HP so they can charge you an arm and a leg. I will not buy another HP product.

Screen Breaks and it will.
All the good reviews are from people that have just purchased this item. Wait till the screen breaks by its self. I have owned 5 ipaqs, starting with the Aero and going all the way to 4155. One day I looked at my ipaq and it had a crack on the screen about 1 inch long. I knew immediately that the crack will grow and it did. The unit has never been dropped or mishandeled. Its does not even have a scratch on it. I am a person that uses a super fine tip fiber tip for my regular writing and never exert any pressure on the pen, letalone the stylus. The crack came by its self and now the repair costs are in excess of 180 $. After reading all the people that have broken their ipaq screens I am thinking of filing a class action law suit against HP. They should provide free screen replacements to their customers. (something similar to what compaq had to do to replace all floppy drives for their customers) I will try to setup a blog page where we can get together and sue the company. [...]

Melted screen
Like other reviewers I was very excited about this little toy, until (as happened with other reviewers too) the screen melted yesterday. Now I am stuck without the PDA and with a headache of fixing it. HP should spend more on engineering and quality parts, less on marketing.

Get a Palm.
When I got up today I found my iPAQ 4155 with a melted screen. Sometime in the night sitting on it's base it just died. Called support and was told that it was a common thing to have happen. Then I was told that it would be $175.00 to fix it. I'm now going out and getting a Palm. I wish I would have saved my money.
