| Review | Rating | Last Updated | I love it This crock ppot is great has a timer and is easy to clean . you can set temp and time very easy to use. | 5 | Today | No complaint! I have this crockpot for 5 years. And I've been using it very often because I'm a busy woman who has limited time to cook in the kitchen and this crockpot help me alot. So far I have no complaint, it work just fine and I really like the feature, after you cook for few hours it will be automatically setting to 'warm' feature.. so if you're not home yet, it will not continue cooking your food, just keep it warm. I think it's great. Recently I bought another one from Amazon because my best friend's mom just lost the house because of fire. She's really happy with the gift and will use it often since she'll be busy with renovation of the house.
| 4 | Today | Yippee - It's not just me!! I've had this crockpot for about 6 months and thought there was something wrong with ME! I was so glad to read these reviews (while searching for a new crockpot). This pot burns everything, even on low. Do not waste your time purchasing it! | 1 | Today | cooks very hot & burns everything I love crockpots. I love cooking with them, starting dinner in the morning to come home and find dinner done. I cannot cook with this. It has evaporated all the liquid every time I have used it. If it says cook on high for 8 hrs, I will cook on slow for 3 and everything will be dried up. It just really runs way to high. I (like several other reviews) have burned my hand on this.
I love the way it looks but it just doesn't work well. | 1 | Today | Rival Crockpots do not control temperature well I bought my crockpot a couple of years ago. It has always overcooked the food. Today I did a google search, and it seems that the Rival brand has this problem. I just ruined another dinner today.
If you want to find other similar experiences, google: rival crockpot temperature. | 1 | Today | This Crockpot is horrible You can't keep anything warm without burning it. I would feel guilty giving it away at a garage sale. Very disappointed in this crockpot. | 1 | Today | The best crockpot for Vegans and other bean lovers!!!!! My family loves this crockpot. It turns itself to warm when finished. We are Vegans and cook a lot of dry beans. Our previous crockpot took 2 to 3 days to cook up a pot. But, this pot takes only 8 hours and often times less. I use the low setting and it helps out a lot for this busy homeschooling family. | 5 | Today | A better option than this one I too bought this item and found that it cooked way to hot. Kind of defeats the purpose of a "slow" cooker. I've found that programmable crock pots that only give the option of programming high/low are usually the ones that run much to hot.
I bought this item at Mervyns and returned it the next day. I found a good replacement though here on Amazon, it's the Hamilton Beach 33956 Stay or Go 5 quart. Although it too is programmable, it allows the user to set the actual temperature (160, 180 etc.,) in line with the item you are cooking. That way, you don't have to rely on the manufacturer "programming" what they believe is hot or warm. Give this one a try. | 1 | Today | Nice Pot , but Handles Broke I am looking on Amazon for a new Crock Pot because this one has broken. The plastic on the handles(face) began to become brittle and crack up. Pieces fell off over time. Then the handle itself broke. The screw holding it on snapped, now there is a piece of screw rattling around inside of the wall. I loved it otherwise, and liked taking it places. But not now. I did think that it got very hot and seemed to cook quickly (which was helpful to forgetful me) but after reading the above review, I wonder if it cooked at the same temp? Whatever, I'm looking again. And wondering. | 3 | Today | Burnt Crispy Everybody at work was telling me, "you gotta start using a crock pot; they're awesome." Well, my experience was pretty bad. My mom told me to put some chicken in with a half cup of water, set it to low and cook it 8 hrs because that's what she does whenever she makes her BBQ chicken. When I came home from work, it smelled like the house was on fire. I did not have moist yummy chicken. I had burnt chicken jerky. Now after reading reviews of this "SMART POT" I have decided that this pot isn't smart at all but a P.O.S. The outside of the pot was burning hot and the bag of bread that I had sitting on the counter near the crock pot had melted--ruining my chance of even having a sandwich. That night I ordered a pizza and vowed to ruin Rival's creditability and name. So I wrote this review. | 1 | Today |
