| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Great mouse I love the blue tooth feature of this mouse. The biggest problem is that it lacks an on/off switch so you have to remove the batteries before storing in your notebook bag. | 4 | Today | I wanted to like this mouse I wanted a small BT mouse for my powerbook. I've used this mouse for two years now. Here's why I honestly can say I hate it:
- it's heavy with two AA batteries, and since it burns through batteries, I use the even heavier rechargeables.
- it has not physical off switch, so when it goes into my briefcase or backpack, the laser flashes away every time it's bumped and burns up the batteries
- it takes FOREVER to re-pair after the powerbook wakes up--sometimes 20-30 seconds. From what I read here, it re-pairs faster with a PC, but I've not tested it with a PC.
OK, so nothing terrible, but the worst is that I get a TON of spurious scroll wheel activity. If I use the scroll wheel at all, then even with my hand off the mouse, all of a sudden the page I'm reading will scroll ALL the way to the top or ALL the way to the bottom. The only way I've found to prevent this, is to click in the page I'm reading after each scroll wheel use. If I just scroll and then stop scrolling, a few seconds later the page will scroll out of view. I hate this.
One nice thing about the mouse is that it has decent range. In my classroom I can carry it around anywhere and control the computer from anywhere in the room. | 2 | Today | stays paired, connects quickly this is a good mouse. i have used it for the mac and my dell D820 with a D-Link 120 adaptor.
on the mac, it takes nearly 45 seconds and retetive clicking to get it to see it after a wake up from sleep, on the PC, it takes less than 3 seconds and one click
this is a great mouse and is good for the money, but i would consider the new logitech one instead, or one made by a more reputable company.
but, for the money, this is a great mouse
it better be, i have 3 of them!! | 4 | Today | Works out of the box I put batteries in to this, discovered it with my Toshiba laptop in a few seconds, and its worked ever since...
Pros-
-Small, easy to move around, precise, simple mouse.
-Works with laptop internal bluetooth hardware fine, with no need for an extra USB stub.
-Takes 2 AA bateries, no charger or AC wires necessary, lasts a couple months and then change them by sliding off the top cover.
CONS-
-Every time you standby the computer then power up again, the mouse requires a click to turn it back on, and about 5 seconds to discover again, same if you let it idle for a while.
-You have to take out a battery when travelling so it doesnt click and keep on turning on. The mouse does come with a little carry bag, that you can carry the mouse and loose battery in.
simple is good
| 5 | Today | Works with Dell Inspiron 6000 Pros:
- nice size, comfortable, a way better that Kensington Pilot
mouse, not too expensive for .
Cons:
- it does "looses connection" with laptop after every reboot,
screensaver or just 10 minutes of inactivity, so you have
to click left mouse button to re-sync;
- no "on/off" switch, it lasts for me about 1.5 months
of medium usage. | 4 | Today | Works poorly with my Dell D610 laptop. I wanted to use this mouse with my new Dell D610 laptop with built-in bluetooth. Unfortunately, it proved to be incompatible, or defective, or perhaps both.
Difficult to recognize and pair. Recognition of this mouse would not survive a reboot, or even the screen shutting off. The idea of having to re-recognize the mouse at every boot is ridiculous.
Documentation is poor. Online help at the Kensington site is non-existent for this model.
I will be returning it on Monday. | 1 | Today | Nice feel / occasionaly a bit of a lag I like the feel of this mouse. The rubber on the sides and wheel give this a nice feel. Also, the on/off switch make this truly portable.
However, OCCASIONALLY I've noticed a lag between the mouse and screen movement, which is a little annoying but not so much that I would go back to a wired mouse. Read the other reviews for this problem, if they don't comment on it maybe it's just my connection. | 4 | Today | works perfectly + feels great in hand This was my first bluetooth accessory. It works perfectly with my Apple 12 inch Powerbook (OS 10.3.8). The tracking is fast and smooth - no difference from my keyboard trackpad. It was the easiet thing to set up...in fact, easy is an understatement. The size is not too small, but more like a real mouse, which is great if you use your laptop all day and all of the night, but want a more therapeutic approach to working without feeling cramped by tiny "travel" accessories...the fit is very comfortable. And the best part - no mousepad or stable surface needed - I've used it on the couch, my kitchen table, my bed...works on anything. | 5 | Today | Works well Initially, I couldn't get my Dell Inspiron 8600 with internal Bluetooth to discover the PocketMouse. After several attempts, I moved it further away from my laptop (about 3 feet), and it paired the first try. I haven't had any troubles with it since. I didn't install any software; it just worked with XP SP2.
As was mentioned by another name, the "PocketMouse" name is somewhat misleading; this mouse is much larger than a typical notebook mouse. It's a bit smaller than a standard desktop mouse.
The materials quality is good; the buttons have a good feel, and the mouse has some heft (contributed mostly by the two AA batteries, which surprisingly are included). My only minor complaint is with the scroll wheel: it's not a smooth scroller, and it takes a little more effort to click than I'd like.
There's no on/off switch; the mouse turns itself off after an inactivity period, or when the paired computer shuts down. Inactivity is determined by the optical sensor, not a motion sensor, and a button click is required to turn the mouse back on, so it's probably safe to carry it on an airplane without removing the batteries. | 4 | Today | Great mouse I purchased this mouse for use with my new PowerBook and have really enjoyed it.
My only complaints stem from my lack of Bluetooth knowledge as this is the first BT device I have purchased. After a little understanding of how OSX communicates with BT devices, the set-up was easy.
The included software is great and very customizable. The included bag is handy for storage in my luggage. Overall, a good buy. | 4 | Today |
