I only fry outdoors to keep the smell out of the house (yes, it's cold frying stuff in the winter). Like another reviewer, we melted the handle. Since it stores in the oil, it should be made out of ABS or something else that is heat tolerant. The part# is 026653 and is available from Waring for about seventeen dollars. I do wish the temp went above 375 and the timer announces the end of the frying session with a single unsatisfying ding that you had better be listening for. Overall, though, it does fry well as long as you don't overload the basket. 4 Today The perfect addition to our kitchen This is the best fryer I have ever owned (and I have been through a few). We use it constantly. It is easy to use and easy to clean out too. It fries a lot of food - 16 wings at a time and doesn't need time to reheat for the next batch. Also makes them crispier than others. The fryer cooks very fast and and the end result is crispy and golden brown. I've considered ordering another one because it fries so well! 5 Today Nice product with small flaw This fryer works well for frying small batches. I must concur with other reviews I have read about the size. The heating element which sits at the bottom of the oil reservoir, takes up nearly half the volume. You have to put in about six inches of oil but you can only fill the basket to about three inches. I suspect this ratio helps the oil to maintain its temperature when adding food. Overall I am happy with the results I get from using this product. 4 Today Awesome deep fryer I bought the deep fryer for my husband. He likes it so much, he looks for meals to fry. I used it once and thought it was very easy to use. I like having a lid to keep hot oil from flying all over. It's very easy to clean since all parts are separate. I had friends over when I first tried it and man they couldn't believe that this appliance cooked my perch/chicken with such perfection. I am indeed please with this product. I cooked about 4-5 pounds of perch in record time and I didn't have to change the cooking oil. The funnel with the strainer made the perfect companion when returning the used cool cooking oil to its' container. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A GREAT APPLIANCE. 5 Today Waring DF200 Deep Fryer I have used this product 3 times and have enjoyed it. I cooked about 4 lbs of cube steak in less than 35 minutes. It has a nice large capacity and heats up quickly. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. 5 Today Great counter-top deep fryer Our family had one of these which was used hard until it finally died of an electrical problem. It had a lot of miles on it when it expired and we were delighted to see that, despite being discontinued by the manufacturer, this model was still out there.
