I really like this kitchen gadget as it different, actually useful, and my hands smell less like garlic. Thus far, I have only used it to chop herbs, onions, and garlic so I can't debunk the mush mess. I would simply say, don't pull the cord a lot if you're worried about it.

I haven't used this for herbs but I have used it for onions and garlic and, like the other reviewers, found it very handy for quick and tear-free mincing. It's a very simple design and holds more food than you would expect. I love that it's only 3 small parts (4 if you count the rubber blade) that all fit easily into the dishwasher (top rack). | 4 | Today | Good for making a mushy mess
I have a mini-cuisinart and a full sized one, but since I received this herb processor as a gift, I thought I'd give it a shot. Well, after a day of trying to chop herbs and mince garlic with it, I'd rather spend the extra time setting up and cleaning the mini-cuisinart. I found that most of the time, this herb processor just mashes everything up, or crushes it, no matter what blade I use. Juices from the herbs or garlic just leak out, weakening their overall flavor and limiting their usefulness. If I need to quickly chop some herbs, I'd rather just do it by hand or by cuisinart. | 2 | Today | Not sure I'd waste my money again...
This is a tough gadget to like very much, but at the same time there are a few times it comes in handy. First of all, I'd never use it for certain things like mincing garlic, or chopping certain herbs like rosemary, as this thing just isn't tough enough for that. The item claims that you flip the blade one way for peeling garlic then the other way for mincing. Are you kidding? I could have the garlic sauteing in oil before the garlic would be peeled in this thing. And rosemary is either too tough too small ???? as I spent about 2 minutes of tugging the cord with about 10% of all rosemary leaves with a single cut!!! Just doesn't work that well on that stuff. But on the other hand, it works like a champ on things like parsley and cilantro. It's almost worth it just for those two items. And then throw it in the dishwasher and you're all set. I haven't tried to do some things that others here have listed (eggs, salad dressing,...etc) but knowing what I know now, I don't think I'd buy this. I love my Rev'n Chef. I use it nearly every day. You can chop your onions without tears, mince garlic without smelly hands, mix together herbs and then blend the olive oil/vinegar for a perfect quick salad dressing. FANTASTIC. You can also use the rubbery blade for blending or whipping. I use it to mix up my eggs and it makes the eggs perfectly fluffy. Just open it up, pop the contents in your pan and you're good to go. Then rinse the sucker out or put it in the dishwasher. You can even take it camping! Zippy and cool. | 5 | Today | No more stinky fingers!
I love this thing - it saves me so much time when mincing garlic, onions, shallots; even things that don't smell up your hands. You can use this to chop, finely chop or mince (depending on how many times you pull the string) most anything. The action is similar to starting a lawn mower. And the thing that I love most about it is that it's not electrical and so you can use it in place of the mini-prep without having to get it all out and plug it in. | 4 | Today |
