They are easy to install in a machine; however, sometimes their drivers with Windows Vista Media Center need a little tweaking. Also, a warning -- if you are running Windows Vista and have more than 3GB of total memory (RAM + video card memory) in your system, this card will not work. Hauppauge has said that it's released driver updates for this issue on it's other newer PVR cards (HVR 1600 and 1800MC) but not for this particular card (and they say they have no plans to do so). If you're using this card in a Windows XP machine or a Windows Vista machine with 3GB of total system memory or less, it is a great deal. However, I'm not sure this would be the best choice of card for a gamer or power user, as I'm sure they'd have more than 3GB of total system memory. For myself, I've decided to keep these cards and limit my RAM to 2GB and my video card to 768MB. 3 Today Personal Video Recorder This product is what I expected it to be. Installation was quick and easy. Software installed well and is easy to use, although, I prefer using Windows Media Center. I am very pleased with the way delivery was handled. I received the parcel packed very well and secure. Delivery was expiedently done. 4 Today Works... for now The card works(with analog signals)but keep in mind most good windows PVR software will cost you as much as this card does. The included software is terrible except for just watching TV (but no program guide!!!). I haven't used it with a game system but I did notice very long delays with a VCR hooked up. It's ok at the price, and the competition isn't any better. 3 Today It works, but the cereal was unecessary This TV Tuner works, but whoever packed it into the box and sent it to me is an idiot. The TV Tuner I received is the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150, except it did not contain an FM tuner or antennae. It came with a list of everything that should be in the box, and the FM antennae was on the list. It also came with a diagram of the tuner card, and the diagram had an FM tuner on it. However, the tuner card does not have an FM tuner and the box did not contain the antennae. What the list DIDN'T specify was that a mini cereal box of Kellogg's Smart Start Healthy Heart cereal would be included. It seems to me as if the packager put the wrong tuner card in, and then to make up for it, dropped his breakfast, the mini cereal box, into the box. It's also possible that the packager thought it would be a hilarious joke to put a cereal box in the box. Well, it isn't. I didn't pay $60.00 for the WRONG TV Tuner and a joke. Installation was a breeze. However, the software and drivers were out of date and didn't work with vista. Windows Media Center didn't recognize the composite video input, so in order to watch the composite input on my PC, I had to go online and download the software that SHOULD have been on the disc. My search is over! Although this may not be the best or most expensive single TV tuner device out there, It does all that I expect and More! Installation on Windows Vista was extremely easy. All I did was open the PC, seated the card and started the PC. Vista detected the card and loaded the drivers. I still haven't even opened the CD that came with the card. The FM tuner was crystal clear. It comes with a antenna cable that splits at the last 12 inches like a snake tongue. The antenna connects to one of the coax connections, and is about 5ft long. I didn't even use the software it comes with. It works with: Nero, Media Center & Ulead Studio. The picture is very clear, and doesn't seem to affect my system's performance at all. I tested both the coaxial and the composite connections on my VCR, and both are impressive. I imported one of my VHS to an AVI file. Buy It! 5 Today Works great in Vista... This worked flawlessly in Vista. I didn't even need to install the drivers that came on the disk. Vista found it and I'm now recording all my favorite shows. 5 Today No good for Windows XP PRO Purchase this to convert my VHS tapes to DVD. My decision to purchase was based on reviews and that it can be used on Windows XP Pro. I had a hard time loading it. Spent a lot time looking for downloads on the internet. Tried to contact customer service and that was a joke. Finally got it to work and then I was very disappointed with the software that came with it. In my opinon, the enclosed software is useless when it comes to capturing VHS videos. I gave it a 2 star rating because someone with Windows Media edition may find this product useful. Returned the product and purchased AverMedia DVD EZmaker Gold. It works great and it is cheaper. 2 Today Inexpensive! It works great, never had any issues with it. The picture quality is alright on my 24" 1900x1200 screen, but it has a lot of room for improvement. Didn't even require me to install drivers after switching to Vista.
