This is absolutely the best fry pan I have ever used. It is truly non-stick without the fear of Teflon. It heats evenly and browns beautifully. I received the 8 inch fry pan as a gift and loved it so much I ordered the 10 inch. Swiss Diamond pans are expensive but worth every penny! | 5 | Today | You need to read this
The problem with many reviews is that they are written in the honeymoon period after the purchase. I bought many pots and pans by this manufacturer. I bought this 10 inch frying pan almost a year ago and I have used it almost every day. It still works, but here's the problem - this type of surface is funny, at first it's like all teflon pans, totally slippery and it is very, very scratch resistant, but after a while no matter how well you clean it, it will develop a hard layer of oil/carbon and will become not much different than a poor to middle of the road seasoned cast iron pan. If you don't believe me, buy it and run it through about 100 cycles and you'll see what I mean. As far as the many other Swiss Diamond pots, casseroles, etc. I have purcased; I give them my highest mark, but keep in mind that any of these that gets used a lot and has oil on it will develop this layer of carbon which is impossible to remove. To their credit, the manufacturer actually warns you of this with the instuctions, and that you must not let the oil get burned on. My experience after 200 thermal cycles is that keeping that from happening is impossible. Maybe I wasn't religious enough in my cleaning at first, but once the process starts it will slowly cover the whole bottom of the pan no matter what you do. I use as much oil and butter in this pan now as I would on stainless or cast iron. Good luck | 3 | Today | Best pan I have had
I use this pan every day. It is the perfect size and it heats everything evenly just as they claim. I recommand it. It is a bit too pricy but if it lasts it might be worth it. I already went through many none stick pans and paid more than this pan is valued. | 5 | Today | An exceptional product
This pan, as well as others Swiss Diamond pans I now own, is excellent in every way they've described their product. You can use metal utensils, it's totally non-stick, and on top of everything it's beautiful to look at. A great, and important, product line. | 5 | Today | great line
We were replacing our original frying pans, 20 years old and much less expensive. I never thought we would spend 50.00+ on a frying pan but we did and couldn't be happier with our decision. The pan is heavy and very easy to clean. You can use butter or EVOO if you choose but it isn't necessary. You will be amazed at the even browning of a pancake or an egg. Due to the weight of the pan, it does take longer to heat but I haven't found that to be a problem in our home. Highly recommend this line. | 5 | Today | Would definitely recommend to a friend.
I've only had the Swiss Diamond Cast-Aluminum Nonstick 10-inch fry pan for a couple of weeks, but I use it every day. I did read the directions and did season it. I do brush a drop of olive oil over the surface each time I use it and it is truly nonstick. I wash by hand which takes five seconds or less because nothing sticks. And it truly cooks beautifully at medium or low heat. If you're contemplating purchasing this fry pan, don't hesitate. I recently bought a Swiss Diamond Saute Pan on the basis of a limited lifetime warranty and this claim in the product description:
"Swiss Diamond cookware features a revolutionary new non-stick incorporating diamond crystals ... to form a virtually indestructible non-stick cooking surface that will not crack, blister or peel. So durable its metal utensil safe."
After my experience using this pan I take issue with the terms "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" and feel that I have been deceived.
I've followed Swiss Diamond use and care instructions *to the letter* but not long after I started using the pan the surface became pockmarked. I would submit that the product is certainly neither "virtually indestructible" nor "metal utensil safe."
Interestingly their lifetime warranty does not cover "scratch marks," which is puzzling because they've just claimed it's "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe." How is a "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" surface going to get scratch marks on it? Maybe they know something we don't? | 1 | Today | A Great Frypan!
This is a "frypan" that you can truly "fry" in. I searched and compared
skillets and frypans before selecting this one as I wanted a pan that I
could fry bacon in and not have it warp and become unusable within a
few months. I had purchased other big name, expensive pans in the past and was
always disappointed that within a year the non-stick finish became
unsafe to use. This is a wonderful pan! Good weight and a fabulous
"diamond non-stick" finish. It does a superb job of frying bacon and
other foods and retains a steady temperature much like cast iron.
It's a breeze to clean, and while I will admit, somewhat expensive, it
will definitely outlast and make up for all the other frypans I've
bought and trashed in the past. It still looks like new after several months of use.
I would highly recommend this frypan and I will certainly add other
pieces of Swiss Diamond cookware to my collection. | 5 | Today | Great pan
