I bought this game about a week ago and realized rather quickly I had wasted my money. This game is a joke. But please listen to me if for no other reason than to get a good laugh! I was just playing it a few moments ago and had a man thrown out running to first base... from the left fielder! In the entire history of baseball I doubt a left fielder has ever thrown out a man running to first base... need I say more? Probably not but I will. The announcers have attendency to say "and he struck out the side"... ok fine, but considering they say it after the first strikeout of an inning, or at any random time really, its just ridiculous. I believe my favorite moment though was the floating batter. One character when he swung his bat became horizontal and swung as if magically becoming weightless, it was beautiful, really. Not only all of that but in career mode I was able to make it to the majors, throw 32 saves of 33 chances, have an ERA under 1.50 and saved three games in the playoffs. Wow good for me, huh? Nope, I was released to free agency the next year and spent the next two seasons in the minors...? Are you kidding me? The graphics are decent at best, the music is dreadful, the statistical information is nearly inaccessible, and the career mode is a joke. Who would play 5 seasons in the minors to make it to the big leagues in a video game? At 20 minutes a game, 162 games a year, for 5 years... would take about 11 days... if you played 24 hours a day that is. And if you do make it onto your favorite team by the time that happens in 2010 your team is a collection of "whos that" and "what in the world is Humberto Cota batting third for... and... holy... is that Todd Walker batting fourth??" And yes you can just simulate through seasons to 'quickly' get through the minors, but even simulating games takes a long while and the progression constantly stops to ask you if you'd like to stop simulating to watch the AA All-Star Game... hmm hard decision but I think I am going to pass. Seriously a laugher. Save your money and hope that in the future who ever makes video games will be enlightened that left fielders dont throw men out at first base and gravity always keeps players on the ground. 2 Today GAME FREEZE This game has nice graphics and pretty good game controls. The hitting is much too difficult, when not playing in Rookie mode. THE BIG PROBLEM!!! This game freezes toooooo much. I played 5 games in a row and every game froze, after a few innings. A real stat destroyer, when you have a good game going. I lost count of how many times I had to restart this game, playing in season mode. VERY DISAPPOINTED FOR THE MONEY I PAID, WHEN THE GAME WAS RELEASED!!!!! I HOPE 2007 IS BETTER!!! 2 Today best place to find great games I enjoy shopping at Amazon because they have a great selection on games, movies on everything! It is easy to deal with Amazon too. They are very helpful and kind and the prices are great! 5 Today Fun, except for a couple of things Overall this game is pretty good, There are a couple things i dont like about it. One major problem that i had was that you cannot set your rosters how you want them, given the fact that you can "trade" players, you can't sign a player without giving someone up. I would have liked to update my roster to the newest season, and play games with a current roster, but you cannot use that roster in single games, so setting you roster is useless. Also the freezeing thing sucks, but i guess i am happy that i am not the only one experiencing that problem. Last thing i would have to say is the fielding is pretty bad, the outfielders look like they have to use the bathroom when they are chasing down a fly ball. 3 Today Excellent but...... The game is very good from the graphics on down and even has a "fast forward" feature during gameplay. Unfortunately the game does freeze (It has happened to me three times in two days). If you can put up with the freezing go ahead and buy it. If not, go for MVP. 4 Today 989 we have a problem 989 games always freeze and this one does to. Get 2k6 or the Show instead. It freezes so much it gets anoying! 1 Today got boring after a couple of months It was an alright game, the only reason i havent been playing it was because in the carrer mode after you have a good season, no teams signs you for more than a year, and if you can get a team for more than one year, after the first year, you are not one the team, and that got annoying. 2 Today good game This game is a good game. Its graphics look the same as 2005 but their can actually be pitchers errors. The dynasty mode is as deep as it gets. It freezes once in a while but has only happened once to me in the 3 months I have had it. Also when playing for my favoriote team the reds we actually can have Joe Randa. Unfortuanattly he got traded too the San Diego Padres in real life and I have been trying too do that trade but the Padres say no all the time. I also like being able too manage the Columbus Clippers too which we cant in mlb 2005. Mlb 05 has one advantage over 06 it dosnt freeze if we dont have scratches on it. Announcers sound about the same. If you can stand mlb 06 freezing once in a while then buy it. One of the best games ive played. The carrer mode also is too hard when we are starting pitchers but too easy when we are first basemen. All star games are fun. When I just got into video games when I was 5 I thought 989 sports made crappy games but now I know they make as good games as any video game thing does. The only games I think are better are ncaa football 2006 and halo 2. Buy this game its as good as it gets. 4 Today Sweeeeeeeeet!!!!! Best game ever tried its awesome. I thought 2005 wuz good but this one won that battle easy. If this game was at world war 1,2 the team this game wuz on would of one easy.lol.
