This is a perfect go to quick cleaner.
Some people have complained that this loses suction. I wonder if they knew that it has a 2 part filter. If you just clean the outside filter you will lose suction if you heavily use this unit. I have had this unit for over 2 years and love it. They do have replacement filters now but are hard to find. the new filters have changed shape so I am thinking it was to improve suction. My friend's came with several filters so I am sure that electrolux was listening to the gripes and made a great go to vac. stick even better!!!!

Great for small clean ups. Not so great for pet hair.
I have had mine for over a year now and I love it. I will confess that I hardly ever use it as a stick vac, but as a hand held normally. As a stick vac, there are things it won't handle well, and you will need to clean out the roller frequently. For dust, granules and the like, it is excellent as a stick. I however have tumbleweed-fur-producing dogs. For that, the hand held pop-out excels. It grabs everything and keeps a fairly long charge, sometimes spending a week or more out of the charger. The little flip top suction port that allows you to clean out the collection container with the hose of a full-sized vac is a thoughtful addition as well. Sucks it clean. I've only had to thoroughly wash the reusable filter twice so far, and it's held up very well.

Great for what it is. People need to be more realistic
I've had mine about a year now and it works just as well today as it did when I bought it. Just like any vacuum, you are going to need to clean out the brush when it gets jammed up with long strings or hairs. One of the blue LCD's went out shortly after I bought it but that's more of a cosmetic thing I don't care about. It holds a charge just as well as it ever did. I use it about 2 to 3 times a week to do quick clean ups in the kitchen and entrance to my home. It doesn't do wet applications but does dry very well. I was surprised by how negative some people were in their reviews of this item. For what it is, it does a good job. It is not a replacement for a full sized vacuum. It is quick, agile, has good consistent suction, and is easy to store/charge if you bother to make sure it is placed on the base correctly when it is not in use. I don't know of another brand or model that is superior to this one. I think people need to be realistic in their expectations and less reactionary. Like any electronic device, there are going to be minor quirks and the occassional defective unit that needs to be replaced or returned. Overall, I am happy with mine and would recommend it to a friend.

6 to 12 month throwaway
I loved this product when I first got it. It was so much better than my big heavy vacuum. But it's only good for a few months. The beater gets tangled with every piece of string and hair and stops turning. Trying to remove the beater for cleaning is impossible because of plastic screws that hold it in place. The worst is that there at two small pads on the bottom to help it glide over the floor. These QUICKLY wear out and there is no way to replace them. In fact, there are no replacement parts available for this unit at all. The charge life went from about 20 mins to about 2 mins now. Oh, and the charging station connection is tricky, so sometimes you place it in the cradle and go back the next day to find out that it moved a little bit and there is no charge at all. Get it, use it and throw it away....or look for something better which is what I'm doing right now.

Started out ok but...............
I was so happy with this vacuum when I first purchased it. I loved how I could use my large vac to clean it out so I didn't have to mess with opening it up to clean it out, saving myself from that ewwww factor! But after about 2 weeks of using it I noticed it was not holding the charge as long anymore and it had lost alot of suction in the process. I was so disappointed because I thought I had finally found a stick vac that was worth the money and more than that........actually worked. Sadly, I had to return it because it just wasn't picking up anymore. I wish they offered it in a corded version, because I think it would work much better that way. Love the features but lost the suction. :(

I Love It !!!
I bought this vacuum for my husband... sort of. I always cut my husband's hair at home. His job, to vacuum up the hair afterward. We previously had a Bissell electric broom, and every time my husband had to vacuum up the hair, I'd have to listen to him yelling out loud, "Gawd, I hate this thing!" over and over again. It wouldn't pick up all of the wet/damp hair from the hardwood floor and when he was finally finished, he'd pick up the vacuum to return it to the closet and a bunch of hair/dirt would fall out onto the floor. So I did some research and decided to try the Electrolux Pronto 2. We put it together and we liked its stylish looks and swivel head. It just glides across the floor. With no cord, whichever one of us is vacuuming can't help but go whizzing away throughout the whole house. The motor is much quieter than the Bissell, and hubby doesn't give me dirty looks when I'm vacuuming when there's a Game on TV. Then came the big test... the haircut. I held my breath and was SO pleased when it sucked up every last piece of hair. Hubby was smiling too. Then he picked it up to put away and NOTHING fell out. He grinned and said, "I like this one!" The vacuum is very lightweight, and has only one speed. As far as how long the battery holds a charge, I'm afraid I can't answer. As the instructions advise, when the vacuum is not in use, it should be stored on the charging station so that it is always ready for use. I have never vacuumed longer than 10 minutes (I have mostly hardwood floors and it goes quite fast). The Pronto 2 works fine for light carpet vacuuming as well. Another nice feature of the Pronto 2 is that you can press a release button and you have a hand held mini vac. I had to go try this out in the car and it worked great. The only down side is you have to hold the power button down and this can be tiring on the thumbs. The only other thing I don't like about this vacuum is the cloth filter bag in the dust collector (however, I think just about all vacuums have them). I just don't like how all the dirt and stuff kind of sticks to the cloth filter when you empty the collector. You are supposed to be able to vacuum the dirt out of the collector with another vacuum, but that seems more trouble than just dumping the collector.

Electrolux Stick Vac
Good machine. I needed a replacement for the shark cordless vac and decided to try the Electrolux. The Electrolux was twice the price but given the brand name, I expect it to last twice as long. Shipping was prompt, product arrived undamaged and easy to put together.
