Well I finally did and let me say it definitely is reminiscent of games like Axelay. The Graphics are top notch for being on the Nintendo DS and the levels are challenging. The only problem I have is how they've implemented the touch screen feature which seems awkward to say the least. In order to change weapons you have to touch the screen, but this becomes difficult in the middle of all the action that occurs. It might have been better to assign this to a button and do away with the touch portion. But an option is to avoid using the stylus altogether and just tap with your finger, but that would leave your screen with prints in the end. This is minor but hopefully this issue has been resolved in Nanostray 2. I definitely recommend a purchase of this game if you really are into the space shooter genre that has the graphic and gameplay to boot. 5 Today Okay This game is basically a classic space shooter game with better effects. It's not incredibly fun IMO. 3 Today great graphics great game, great graphics but a little on the short side fun while it last --worth twenty dollars 4 Today Nanostray DS I recieved Nanostray today from amazon and have already beaten it. It is very short, I wish there were a few more levels to play. Graphically Nanostray is awesome, very impressive. The controls are decent however I wish they would have had a button utilized to select weapons as an alternative to only using the stylus. Posting your nanocodes online to be ranked amoung the other players throughout the world is pretty neat, but I don't think it will prolong the longevity of the title. Since it is able to be beaten within a few hours I think this diminshes the replay value substantially. Other than being terribly short the game is very enjoyable to play and I would recommend it to anyone who loves shooter style games such as this. 4 Today Nanostray Nanostray is the best game I have ever played! When I first got the game, I thought I got the wrong game. I was the one who was wrong. This was the best game that I have ever played. I think this game is good because it has challenging levels. If you just started this game, I think the easiest planet is the Mitsurin Jungle. 5 Today Nanostray Nanostray is a great game. Its fun addictive and easy to play. My only real complaint is that the campaign is to short, I beat it in a few hours. But the arcade mode is great, possibly better than the campaign. Its definatly worth buying. 4 Today a quick adrenaline rush! This is the kind of game that you play if games like the original Starfox for the SNES appeal to you. Don't expect incredible depth, but rather, gaze at the awesome graphics and music while blasting a bunch of ammo at waves and waves of oncoming enemies. I love it. The only drawback is that the game is waay too short for the money- I would say a good three hours is enough to beat this game from the moment you pick it up if you are a seasoned gamer. With that said, I can never get sick of replaying this game because the graphics and superficial flashiness are kind of addictive to me. If you are expecting a hardcore shoot-em-up on the level of Ikaruga, you will definitely be disappointed. 4 Today A great vertical scroller Definately a fun game, but the learning curve is rather steep. If you like vertical scroller games similar to Raiden or Raptor: Call of the Shadows, this game is atleast worth a try. 4 Today Fun but short Nanostray is a a fun arcade style game. Thhe game has no story and has only has 5 misson With three settings. The game also has five different wepons each with special wepons, you also have bombs. you must use theys wepon to destroy wave after wave of ships to get a high score. 3 Today Pretty improssive for the DS I like Ikaruga on the gamecube so I thought I would get this game which lot of people compare to Ikaruga type game. I am glad I did. It is the same type of game like Ikaruga but it has it's own unique gameplay. This game has 4 weapon types as well as big-bombs vs. the two weapon types in Ikaruga. The weapons are all tactically different in this game... one shoots straith, another curves, and then there is one that shoots from the sides only and another that locks on to whatever is hit and keeps doing damage as long as you hold the attack or the enemy is destroyed. Additionally each weapon has its own special energy attack... overall the weapons provide a good variety of ways to defeat enemies effectively. The stages, action, challenge level etc are all great. It has the most action going on of any DS game I have played so far. The game has single-cart multiplayer for up to two players which I like playing and gives lot of replayability. The 'adventure' mode has 8 stages which one could probably complete on the normal difficulty in a few days. Other modes such as the challenge mode would probably take people long long time since much more difficult. My only criticism is that the weapon switching can only be done with the touch screen.
