The Eureka Altima vacuum cleaner has come along way. First, the bad: It is still somewhat bulky to roll around, the electrical cord still is manual. The round filter DOES collect all the allergens, pollen and dust and really works, but when you need to dump out the clear container, you need to remove the filter AND shake out the particles in the filter (do it outside). Now for the good: The wide track is rubberized for protection and the adjustable height adjusts for a deep rug to a bare floor. It truly does suck up all particles (kitty litter, dust, etc.) without spitting it out the back of the vacuum cleaner. The `spin duster' is a neat attachment, as it is soft and really does attract and pull out dust. Simply putting it back in its case and turning of the vacuum cleaner sucks out the 'spin duster'. There are several great attachments that are very handy and handily placed. So, besides the noise and the bulk and the fairly cheap plastic construction, this cleaner is the best I have had in my household to this day. Its worth the price. | 4 | Today | Worst Vacuum Ever!
This vacuum is worthless. It spits dirt out the back, belts broke about 4 times, and finally today it just wouldn't turn on, on/off switch broke. So happy to get rid of it!!! I had an old plain Hoover for about 10 years, cost me $50 and picked up dirt & hair a ton better than this and not one broken belt! Don't waste your time! | 1 | Today | Worst vacuum on earth
This vacuum is the absolute worst vacuum I have ever purchased!! I could suck up more dirt with my teeth than with this vacuum cleaner. If this was the last vacuum cleaner on earth I still wouldn't purchase it. I would completely do without! I thought vacuums were for sucking up dirt and dust not throwing more all over your carpet and floors.....

When I bought this vacuum it made a smell while turned on.
My husband thought that it was a "new vacuum" smell that would go away.
After a few months the smell got much worse and now it smells like burning plastic. I am going to throw the vacuum away.
It is impossible to vacuum bare floor with this vacuum, because it throws dirt and particles back on the floor.
The only thing I liked about it, that it picked up hair very well.
This vacuum is much worse than the cheaper ones I previously owned.
Don't waste your money on it!

Ok,this vacuum sucks dust and dirt up more than my old vacuum, but 2 things that drive me absolutely crazy about this vacuum, well 3, the belt breaks very easily, the hose is not long at all, and this one really makes me crazy, if the hose comes out of it's hole(?) then it doesn't do anything, you notice when you're done vauuming and forget it, you have to vacuum all over again. This vacuum absolutely SUCKS! I received this as a housewarming gift from my in-laws and I swear that they are trying to punish me. It shoots dirt and kitty litter out the back side and impales in into my legs. Then when you turn it off, it dumps all the rest out on to the floor. Then you have to use a dust-buster to clean up what you just vacuumed up. If I could rate this as zero stars I would. Well, I am going against the grain for once on Amazon, and stating this vacuum works impressively well.
The difference compared to other bagless is that you have to empty the can more often (its small). If you dont, things get clogged up pretty quick, and I think thats why so many are having trouble. Eureka should refund the purchase price of this piece of junk!!! It is completely unacceptable - poor quality, failure to perform in any satisfactory manner, clogs constantly, can't handle even the most minimum level of dog hair and cat hair. Wish I had read the reviews before I purchased. All I can say is "ditto" to clogging, uselessness of the attachments, messy filters that need frequent cleaning, poor suction, terrible on bare floors, and after four months started smoking every time I turned it on.
