| Review | Rating | Last Updated | new to convection ovens I have never used a convection oven and I am really surprised how fast it cooked. I cooked a half a chicken in about 15 minutes. Truly amazing! This product also makes perfect toast and Eggo waffles. If it ever comes back as a lightening deal again, grab it! | 4 | Today | Serves our purposes So far, we've been very satisfied with this oven. We use it for toasting and for baking potatoes. It's done a fine job with those tasks, and it doesn't take up too much counter space. | 5 | Today | A toaster oven that toasts This oven makes good toast, quickly. The fan is quiet and the timer works quite well. I'd prefer having a "broil" option, and the 5 preset temps are 180, 250, 320, 400, and 470, with nothing in between (how about having 350--surely the most common temp for baking). Still, it's an attractive and quick appliance. | 4 | Today | Cook faster I'm impressed with the time it takes to cook most frozen foods. With this baby, I just put in half the suggested time on the cooking instructions, and its done. The oven looks top notch as well with brushed metal exterior. I definitely recommend this products, looks and works great.
Only drawbacks I thought were: Set oven temperatures. You have 5 to choose from, for the most part, it seems all I need.
The beeping sound when your food is done... it sounds very similar to a fire alarm beep.
Toast doesn't toast evenly. Fortunately, I don't plan to use it for toast. Cooking say chicken wings are perfect.
The space is small in the back of the oven.. the roof of the oven slants down, giving only a couple of inches in the back. | 4 | Today | Almost a winner In regards to cooking and user friendly controls, the toaster oven is great. However I am disappointed with two things about it. The first and biggest disappointed is the apparent manufactures defect regarding the ovens door. The door falls off on the left (Looking at the toaster) side of the oven. There is a lot of "wiggle room" for the door and if you move it to the right just enough, the door pin falls out of the hinge. Granted, I could "rig" it to correct the problem but this is not a $20 toaster oven. The second issue which was more my fault is the size. For example, it will fit a personal pan pizza (For one person) max. It looks bigger in the picture then it really is. So make sure you note the measurements before you buy. I actually down graded in size and found out I couldnt cook everything I could before. The toaster cooked excellent but I cant recommend though due to the door hinge issue. If that weren't a problem, it would be a great compact toaster oven.
| 3 | Today | Excellent Value. Does the job well. We replaced a regular toaster with this toaster oven. Makes excellent toast much quicker than we expected. The area around the toaster does not get hot. Reheats items very quickly. Much better looking than all dial toaster ovens. Other: Four years ago we switched back to regular toasters, because the immediate area around the toaster oven was always hot. It also took too long to toast. When we started having trouble with our designer look Delonghi, we decided to again consider a toaster oven. We had to use the large stove oven to reheat items we didn't want to microwave, such as pizza slices. We were also tired of not being able to toast items with raisins/seeds as they would fall down into the toaster. This toaster oven is much better than those of 5 years ago. There are no cons to this product. | 5 | Today | Above average toaster oven After doing an exhaustive search on Amazon for toaster ovens, I settled on this Sanyo. I was looking for a toaster oven mainly to toast bread items that would not easily fit into a regular toaster (such as large slices of artisan breads).
Although slower than a regular toaster, this Sanyo does the job of toasting fairly well. I'm pleased overall.
One side note... The first unit that I received was damaged in shipping, but Amazon sent out a replacement immediately. | 5 | Today | pleasant surprise Had to adjust the inner rack as a result of the shipping, but not a big problem. The convection oven does a nice & even cooking,& the timer helps to make the cooking a snap.Fairly easy to clean because of the stainless steel feature. When you open the door the food is easy to retreive since the tray comes out halfway. | 5 | Today | Sanyo Toaster Oven We love the appearance of the oven and it's various settings. It is more powerful than the lower-end toasters, but it is not an oven in which one would cook a roast. Great for cooking french fries, breakfast foods. I bake fish in aluminum foil packets in it. It is a little odd how it counts down the minutes, but once accustomed to this, it is not a detriment. I purchased one for myself and one for my daughter--it's that good--and cute as a button, a little retro, a little modern. | 5 | Today | Sanyo Toaster Oven After many years of use my under cabinet mounted Black & Decker toaster oven had become unsightly. It still worked but it was time to move on. Sadly B&D does not make this particular type of oven any more so I searched for a replacement. My wife puchased a EuroPro toaster oven with a coupon from Linens-N-Things. Larger size, white, looked nice. This unit was a joke. Nothing cooked correctly, especially toast, the controls were awful, manual; no help either. So I decided to venture into cyberspace to read some reviews. The Sanyo oven kept popping up as a highly rated product. So far I have to say I'm impressed. It has some inovative features and it actually cooks things properly and it makes toast! Audible electronic chimes are great. I actually walked into few stores and turned on several manual timers on a variety of machines and waited for them to sound off. Some did, some didn't, none were impressive. The reason I didn't give the Sanyo 5 stars is twofold. First, the whole entire unit gets very hot and the handle is poorly insulated and located too close to the glass. Second, the digital timer could have in fact been just that, a count down timer. Instead you chose a setting, the LED lights to signify selection but from there its just a guess until the "beep, beep, beep". More expensive than some but a solid performer and kind of retro looking. All in all I highly recommend it. | 4 | Today |
