NHL 2007 is the best hockey game that has come out in a very long time. Anyone defending 2k sports- its a waste of time. If there games were so great or if they are so great why are they selling them for 10 (minimum) dollars cheaper than EA sports? The 2k sports started as a cheap video game maker, and they slowly started climbing up the charts with there sports games such as hockey, basketball, football, and basketball. Right when EA sports started making decent sports game, they were forced to spend all the money they making on there other games to keep up with EA. They got so into it they named themselves 2K sports instead of just 2K Gaming Industries (there old name). So evertime EA comes out with a top charter game, 2K has to come out with something quickly or suffer with money loss, because everyone is buying EA Sports' games. Thus resulting in 2K's poor graphics, unrealistic gameplay, etc. My dad works as a retailer for 2K and has experienced first hand what I'm writing about. Three games played and I just wasn't feeling that new layout so I went back to the old set-up and then this game really becomes fun. One simple fact is that there is too much scoring in this game, even if almost every goal that you score is really cool. 3 Today NHL 07 I am an avid game play and I just wish that EA Sports would make a more realistic hockey game. This is one of the best hockey games ever made. There is only 3 problems, the salary cap in dynasty mode sucks i think they should eliminate it for NHL 08. I also think that EA should change the commintators for the next NHL games, Ken Danials and Mickey Redmond would be the best commintators for the game because they are so exciting to listen to. I think this game is a really good game. I disagree with many of the reviews about this game because I still think it is a pretty good game. The graphics are pretty good aside from the coaches. The players and uniforms are all well down and game flows smoothly and doesn't look cheesy. However, I can't deny the fact that goaltenders have a lack of sucess and are just skaters with masks; pulling the goalies for an extra attacker doesn't mean sacrificing much defense so I wish that the developers would make goalies on your team and the CPU's team somewhat better. With that being said, this is my second game in this series and I think there is a good amount of options. You can play mini-games like shootouts, play a quick game, or a season. My favorite is dynasty mode, which I play the most because it allows you to experience how its like to be gm or coach and make trades, edit lines, or work the free agent pool. You can also play the games unlike coach modes in some other games. Another thing I was impressed with is that you can play for NHL or some leagues around the world. And the important thing is that I was happy with the game and will be a repeat customer when they create next year's version. 4 Today EA's Hockey Games Suck!!! Boycott EA!!! Buy NHL 2K7 instead!!! This is the worst hockey game that has ever come out. The team rosters are from last year. They had to change the control scheme to confuse everyone. Graphics and gameplay suck!!! When you score a goal in Joe Louis Arena playing as the Detroit Red Wings, the goal horn does not sound like the real thing!!! NHL 2K7 has the real authentic goal horns. Not to mention they say that this game is revolutionary, when in reality, its just like last years game. I suggest a boycott on all Electronic Arts Games and support 2K Sports, as they have the most realistic sports games on the market at a cheaper price!!!
