This product has never worked. The power adapter is supplying power but the front brand name does not light up as other consumers have indicated it should. Tech support for this product is difficult to obtain, and then the guy I did talk to was convinced I did not have it plugged into the wall because it "should just work". I'm pretty tech savvy and neither my Windows box nor my Mac would recognize it after extensive troubleshooting. No refund or replacement was offered. I would avoid this product and consider other options. 1 Today Inferior Picking up this product at Sale Price, I can reassure you its not worth it. Though this product is at a cheap price for 250 Gigs, is rather small, has on/off switch to toggle while still attached, and doesn't take a lot to set up, it has many downsides. It lacks customer and product support and lacks instructions, warranty and repair information, and overall has no paper work to assist you. The USB connector poorly mates with the input to begin with [which will only worsen with time, eventually renduring it useless], and most laptops and computers I have tried it with take a great deal of effort to detect and read the drive. I returned this product and picked up a Seagate 250 GB drive for almost the same price with much better performance. Though this drive could be a cheap back-up I would not recommend it for anything else 2 Today Great. I bought this hard drive to store music, pictures and videos for editing later and I could not be more pleased. It looks cool sitting on the shelf, it's compact enough to carry with you and it's extremely easy to work with. No complicated software, just plug it into your USB port and start transferring. The brand name does light up when the power switch is on but that's easy to remedy; turn it around. That makes the power switch easier to access anyway. But an acquaintance did, and I tried to use it. Although the package appeared to have intact factory seals, the front panel was badly scuffed. Not good. Inside the package, there was a conspicuous absence of supporting material: no manual, no CD, no warranty, and no product registration card. The stand is cheap and requires a solid surface. The wire rack shelves I use for everything else cannot accommodate this device. The power connector doesn't mate securely to the back of the unit. The non-brand name LIGHTS UP on the front of the drive when you plug it in! I don't need a neon sign in my office. And finally, the device is inoperable. One of my Linux machines doesn't see it at all, no USB devices register or anything. My wife's Windows laptop can't see it either. I tried again using my own USB cable that's known to be good. This is totally broken, but had it run when I tried it I still would never have purchased one for my use. What a tremendous piece of junk. 1 Today Everyone should own it.
