| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Please Stay Away From This printer prints GREAT, but that is if you want to be buying cartridges for it every other week and if you want to waste all of your time doing nozzle checks and head cleanings.
I am a scrapbooker, I print out A LOT of my logos, titles and pieces and half of the time it either has a black wheel ink line, there are fading lines in my work, or one color JUST won't print.
So please I am just trying to save you some money, stay away from this one:( | 1 | Today | Utter trash What useless garbage. Despite highly infrequent use, keeping the CX6000 off when not in use, and a total color print count of less than five pages, my cyan cartridge ran out already. Now I cannot print anything, even in black & white only. The Epson website FAQs for this product confirm this limitation (intentional, me thinks) as well, and suggest "having extra ink on hand". F you.
Will avoid Epson like the plague. | 1 | Today | Epson ... Drunk with Power .... Ink Abuser I did not buy this printer from Amazon. Amazon and I have had a GREAT relationship over many years. This was MY mistake.
My wife and I use lots of ink in a month because of our outside interests which have nothing to do with our chosen professions. We both have never seen printers which were so THIRSTY and unreliable. My CX6000 is a replacement from Epson on a much larger printer better suited to our constant usage. The CX6000 sucks down at LEAST twice the ink of the machine which Epson HAD to replace.
I am constantly CLEANING the head, thereby dumping ink right into the toilet. I have only printed one hundred pages on this last replacement effort. During that time I have had to clean the heads half a dozen times; thereby flushing ink right out of the machine.
And now Epson has figured out that the Bush Administration is ripe with confederates. I am not able to purchase my usual set of replacement ink cartridges from my favorite and most reliable retail company in Maryland. They have found 'fellow travelers' in the Federal Trade Commission who have decreed that selling copy-cat ink cartridges (perfectly good ink and perfectly good cartridges) is against the law. What used to cost me $28 or less for a full set of colors is now back to over $56!
DON'T BUY EPSON ... STAY AWAY
My other printer is a Canon Pixma. Even with changing the chip in each cartridge each time I replace the ink, the price is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than any OEM replacement forced on me by the Epson decision.
Meanwhile an old HP Deskjet 940C plugs along on my 'leftover' Compaq computer. What a great machine the old Deskjet was.
I am ready purchase ANYTHING to replace Epson. It is almost cheaper to throw the Epson away and replace machines every few years if the ink continues to be such a problem to obtain.
I love Amazon. They have been great; .... Epson on the other hand ....
A.F Genco | 1 | Today | Worst Printer Ever I previously had an epson printer, and it was decent. I had issues with print heads clogging constantly, but I figured if that was the worst of my problems, then big deal. Finally, I decided it was time to upgrade, so I picked up this one.
From Day 1, I have had NOTHING but problems and headaches with this printer. As everyone above says, it sucks up Ink like I have never seen. I've only had the printer for maybe 6 months, and I print out mostly word documents every couple weeks, and I have had to buy all of the ink colors 3 times. I don't think I've used the color ink yet, but even if you only want to print black and white, if your printer is out of Cyan, it refuses to print. As others have said, the Ink seems to just evaporate. I bought a full set of ink, printed out 2 black and white word documents, and the next thing I needed to print was another black and white word document 4 weeks later, and all the yellow was gone.
I'm about 2 days from throwing this printer out, and picking up ANYTHING else. I wouldn't recommend this printer to anyone unless you are someone who finds pleasure in buying ink every 4 weeks whether you've been using your printer or not.
I've also had problems with the scanner not working since day 1, and Epson refuses to help me out on that one, even though it's under warranty. | 1 | Today | Ink-Credibly Ink Thirsty printer! I looked on this site to see if there were other reviews supporting my suspicion that my printer was consuming an extraordinary amount of ink...and I guess it's not just my imagination! I have never sat down and tracked how many pages I could print before running to the store to buy more ink, but it seems to be about every 10-15 pages! I am sooooo frustrated with this! I used to have an HP and printed art, photos, ALL the time..and rarely ran out of ink. I would take this one back had I saved all the box and such, but I do know that I will not buy an Epson again when this one passes away! | 1 | Today | Will let you down when you need it most. Very simple. This printer, like every Epson I've owned (in our family that's quite a few) will stop printing when it detects that you've run out of just one color. Even black won't print if it thinks your magenta is empty. And it will decrease the amount of available ink for every page you print - EVEN IF YOU ARE ONLY PRINTING IN BLACK - YES IT WILL DECREASE THE LEVEL IN THE COLOR CARTRIDGES TOO!
Tonight is the last night this will happen to me. The next Brother or Canon (meaning reliable) that goes on sale will get put in place of the Epson, and the Epson will be put out to pasture.
| 1 | Today | Total junk Not only are the cartridges expensive, but they run out with only several printings. After replacing cartridge, ink head clogs. Their customer service only gives canned responses, very unhelpful. My printer is brand new, so I am very disappointed. The scanner is the only good thing about this item. | 1 | Today | Great Printer for Price and Features For those that have given this printer a poor review I have to disagree, I have had this printer for almost a year and loved it so much that I talked my sister into getting one. I have only replaced the cartridges once in the time I've had it and I use it for printing not only documents but also for printing photos onto the photo paper for my own prints. So the ink life if you actually read your book is great! The scanning feature is also AWESOME. I have taken pictures, like the ones you get in a photobooth at the mall and once scanned they are pretty much screen sized after scanning...All in All I would highly recommend this printer!! | 5 | Today | Epson Stylus CX6000 All in One Printer Love the printer - good scanner and the print quality is outstanding. Would purchase an Epson All in One printer again. Quality and price is unbeatable. | 5 | Today | Overall, a Bust Ink disappears way too quickly and even if one cartridge is cashed you can't use the printer until you replace that cartridge. For how quickly the ink lasts the ink price is way too high as well. This is one of the biggest disappointments ever. Some Epson guy at CompUSA convinced us that Epson was great. I will admit it printed great looking pictures but the price to do so was way to high. This printer has already been slammed by everyone who wrote a review but it's so bad I have to put my 2 cents in. Like someone else says it is very slow and the scanning sucks. It is big, heavy, ugly, and bulky. All three color ink's ran out at the same time so instead of paying 40 dollars for the ink we instead paid 40 dollars for a brand new HP all in one printer at Target. I just wish I would have known that when any or all the colors go out you can't even print in black and white since I did purchase a new black cartridge. To sum it up for the cx6000 there was only one good thing I about it...it printed top quality color 4x6 photos but at a far to expensive price. | 1 | Today |
