I bought this monitor open box, as-is, and it has one dead pixel; although, I rarely notice it (only when watching movies full screen). Great resolution, clear image, and overall great, especially after 7 years of an old ViewSonic 17" CRT. Get one new and you'll be pleased. | 4 | Today | disappointing
I purchased this monitor to be my primary monitor and replace a Sony Trinitron monitor. The performance is quite disappointing from a number of perspectives. First, the color fidelity is not good at all. I calibrated the display several times, to no avail: color shift is very noticeable and white is just about impossible to achieve. Second, the viewing angle is very very narrow, even a slight shift off axis and there is profound color shift and luminance drop off. Third, the luminance is very uneven top to bottom. Fourth, there is an advertising sticker that covers the top edge of the surround, no luck at all getting the gummy backing off of the monitor. Fifth, it really needs to be adjustable vertically, but the stand only tilts, there is no horizontal adjustment.
This is such a disappointing product that I moved it to storage for several months, I'm using it now in a application where image color quality doesn't matter. The only upside to this unit is the size of the display. Given its price, I think it would be easy to find a better monitor elsewhere. | 2 | Today | Read your warranty and ask Viewsonic before purchasing
If you plan on purchasing a viewsonic monitor, be advised. Viewsonic does not warranty their product if you clean it with any non approved cleaning substances. Viewsonic, according to customer service representatives, do not currently have any approved cleaning products, and do not recommend touching your screen in any manner for cleaning or color calibration. Touching your screen in anyway constitutes abuse and voids your warranty as customer damage. Viewsonic also does not recommend using ANY color calibration devices on your monitor, as it constitutes customer abuse and is not covered under warranty. I right this because I had a view sonic monitor, calibrated it, and cleaned the "recommended way" the anti glare coating stated pealing off. Even though the products website said it was approved by Viewsonic. Viewsonic said tough it is not our problem that you damaged you monitor, you voided your warranty by cleaning it. This is an excellent monitor for the price-my 15 inch Lcd monitor I got a few years ago cost more! The colors are rich and vivid and the wide screen 16:10 format anticipates future formats. The only gripe might be that the documentation recommends setting your computer resolution to 1680x 1050--this is not supported by my brand new computer--I have it set to a lower resoltion and looks great anyway.
It has a DVI cable and input but my computer does not have this output!-such a connection does support HD 720 p-- I hope monitor lasts until I can take advantage of HD connection. With a 2 milisecond response time this IS the fastest monitor yet. If you do any amount of playing games this monitor is the best. If you're just looking for a monitor for watching movies...you'll probably want a widescreen monitor instead. But if you want an amazingly clear monitor this one is perfect. I wish I could get the boss to get me one of these at work (instead of the Dell flat screen I'm currently using). Even the buttons are easy to use as opposed to some monitors...this one has user interface controls that are very intuitive and simple...Press "1" for main menu, choose up and down arrows, and "2" to select...then "1" again to exit...it's almost like the designers asked a user what the controls should look like. This is truly a great product AND it has a 3 year warranty. | 5 | Today | Excellent value
The ViewSonic VX2035wm is high quality and excellent value. Only criticism is the miniscule buttons on the front that are more efficiently pressed with a round toothpick than a finger. What were the engineers thinking? There is plenty of room on the front to make them bigger. | 5 | Today | Works for me
The monitor was relatively cheap and has worked really well in the short time that I have had it. It was easy to setup. It has 1680x1050, but is only 20" across. I feel it has a more crisp picture than a 22" which have the same number of pixels over a larger area. I really felt it was the best deal out there for the quality.

I have been using the monitor for 6 weeks and have very good experience with it , colors are pretty crisp and everything showing up nice, the recommended resolution is 1680 X 1050 and for maximum perfomance it should be kept , speakers are not strong, but generally you would not use monitor speakers for listening anyways | 5 | Today |
