| Product Reviews from Amazon.com (Rating System 1 to 5) |
| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Features anemic I had the 1GB model before, which was much better in some ways. The volume on this device only goes down so far, so I'm stuck listening to moderately loud, or louder. I have to change the volume on my computer to sync at a lower volume than normal. Another feature that wasn't super clear in the spec was that this is NOT a USB plug and ply device. You need a special cable (which is a pain to lug around) to sync and charge the device. Also, the huge proprietary port for the cable on the device is far from good for folks who might get the device close to water. In the first 10 uses, the device has frozen when disconnected from my Windows machine and also when a crumb from my backpack got inside the faceplate button. It's a delicate little device. The device stays on when you disconnect it from your computer, and thus discharges if you're not paying attention and let it stay on. I like the battery life so far, and the earphones are decent but do not seem like they'll last very long. The screen resolution on this device is similar to one of those old Nokia text-line phones. Many of the menu items don't go anywhere, and the user interface seems half-finished. If you're looking for a basic mp3 player, then this one probably has too many features. If you're looking for a feature-rich one, this one may not meet your expectations. | 2 | Today | Very reasonable and so far reliable This it the first MP3 player I've purchased and so far, I'm happy with it. I enjoy the compactness, the sound quality and the lanyard which I can use during my workouts. I ride my exercise bike about 50 or so miles a week and the music sure makes the time go by faster.
I recommend the unit. | 5 | Today | OK player if you dont use the extended MicroSD The player works fine, but the mp3 materials I loaded on the two MicroSD could not be read or played. | 2 | Today | Don't Purchase Sansa Products I purchased a similar Sansa MP3 Player, the Sansa C140 only to have it break twice in one year. I had it replaced once, free of charge. However, now, Sansa will not respond to my e-mails. | 1 | Today | 2 gb mp3 player I walk a lot and this is the perfect size to fit in my pocket. It also holds enough music that I can walk for miles without hearing the same song twice. | 4 | Today | Great Product This was a gift for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves it. It performs well and we have not had any problems with Definitely a great value for the price and has great features. Would definitely recommend it to anyone else looking for an mp3 player without wanting to shell out for a pricier iPod. | 5 | Today | a good mp3 player The Sansa c250 is a really good mp3 player. its battery life is great and the volume is nice and loud. at first i ran into few problems with my computer reading it but i got that all taken care of.
though my biggest issue right now is i bought a 4GB micro SD card to put into my mp3 player and go figure,it wont read it or even recognize it.
it is to big for the mp3 player to read. so if u choose to use a micro SD, go 2GB and below. i use the 4GB card now for my enV phone.
other than the micro sd problem, i would recommend this product for the person on the go and needing some tunes! | 4 | Today | Faulty connection I'm about to receive my third replacement Sansa c250 from Sandisk (they get an extra star for having polite, pleasant and helpful customer service reps when you call them, and for replacing each malfunctioning unit easily and with no question) - each one has shorted out at the point where you connect earphones to it and has only played sound in one ear. The first one did this after about six months, the second after four days, the third after a couple of months. I have given up and bought an iPod Nano - while I'm very sorry to lose the FM capability, I'm hoping for more reliability from the iPod. I'll give the Sansa replacement to my husband and wish him better luck than I had... (as for the player itself, aside from the shorting out, I was very happy with its performance). | 2 | Today | Good alternative The Sansa is a good alternative to the ipod and I am happy with it, but it does not work with Windows Vista. | 3 | Today | MicroSoft DRM is a Joke This is about to go back to Amazon. I have spent literally hours trying to get this player to work with content downloaded from the New York Public library using OverDrive Media Console. First I needed to upgrade the firmware, whatever Amazon sold me was outdated. Then I had to change some settings (they weren't available in the earlier firmware version). Then... still have problems. I hate Apple's fetishization of COOL but at least iTunes works. Digital music players would NEVER had taken off if the industry needed to rely on Redmond to figure this one out. Total frustration. I think I'm going back to cassettes.
Oh, some other stuff. THe player looks much better in the picture than in real life. It's very light and looks to be delicately built. The switches have that cheap feel and the controls are not well located. The screen is OK. I'm too old for this kind of thing and have no trouble reading it. | 2 | Today |
