| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Great Product I bought this TV about a month ago and love it. I have been watching the NBA Playoffs on it and it looks great even in 1080i (comcast doesn't project in higher HD). I have my Xbox hooked up with an HDMI cable and it gives me full 1080P quality. It looks fantastic even in an extremely bright room. I reccommend this product especially for the price. Buying a 57in 1080P HDTV for just over $1K is a steal. | 5 | Today | MITSUBISHI, THREE STRIKES, YOU'RE OUT !!! WE PURCHASED A WD-57732 MITSUBISHI TV IN APRIL, 2007. WE WERE THRILLED WITH THE DEEPER IMAGES THAT THE SET OFFERED AND THE COLOR WAS AMAZING. NOTICE I SAID "WAS" AMAZING. WITHIN TWO MONTHS BOTH OUR TV AND CABLE BOX WENT OUT. THE GREEN LIGHT WAS CONTINUOUSLY FLASHING, AND THE TV WOULD NOT TURN ON, I MEAN, NO PICTURE OR SOUND OF ANY KIND. CALLED MITSUBISHI, BUT THEIR "HELPFUL" IDEAS DIDN'T FIX MY TV. WAS INSTRUCTED TO CALL WARRANTY PLACE TO HAVE REPAIR DONE ON TWO MONTH OLD TV. SO FROM JUNE 25, 2007 UNTIL JULY 16, 2007 WE DIDN'T HAVE OUR "BRAND NEW" BIG SCREEN TO WATCH. THEN, OCTOBER, 2007 TV SHOWED MESSAGE "AIR FLOW BLOCKED." WHICH, BY THE WAY, NOTHING WAS BLOCKING THE VENTS OR THE TV. CALLED MITSUBISHI AGAIN, AND THEY INSTRUCTED TV REPAIR PLACE TO PERFORM TEMPERATURE SENSOR CONNECTOR BYPASS, WHICH PROVES THEY KNEW ABOUT PROBLEM AHEAD OF TIME. NOW, HERE WE ARE AGAIN, BOTH TV AND CABLE BOX WENT OUT TOGETHER AGAIN. THIS TIME, CABLE COMPANY SAID TV'S INPUTS OUR PUTTING OUT TO HIGH A VOLTAGE EVEN, WHEN TV IS TURNED OFF, WHICH IS CAUSING BOTH CABLE BOX AND TV TO MALFUNCTION. WORRIED ABOUT POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD, WE ARE TAKING THIS SET BACK TO STORE AND LOOKING FOR A SONY, OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A MITSUBISHI. WE THINK 3 STRIKES, YOU'RE OUT!!! JUST LIKE IN BASEBALL. ALTHOUGH, WE DID PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, STILL DON'T WANT TO BE WITHOUT A TV EVERY 3-6 MONTHS. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE. | 1 | Today | GREAT TV, GREAT PRICE I PURCHASED THIS TV FROM AMAZON AND WITHIN ONE WEEKS TIME IT WAS REDUCED BY CLOSE TO $200.00. EACH TIME AMAZON GAVE ME CREDIT FOR THE REDUCTIONS. THIS TV IS A GEM. PERFECT PICTURE AND COLOR. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND PROGRAM. MOST CHANNELS SEEM LIKE THEY ARE IN HD EVEN BEFORE I GOT A HIGH DEFINITION CABLE BOX. IF THIS TV HOLDS UP IT HAS ALL THE MORE EXPENSIVE SETS BEAT BY A MILE. END COST FOR ME WAS JUST OVER $1100.00 DELIVERED AND SET UP WITHIN DAYS AFTER I ORDERED. HATS OFF TO AMAZON AND CEVA THE DELIVERY PEOPLE. THANKS | 5 | Today | Mitsubishi Scraping the Bottom! Mitsubishi once positioned itself on the upper scale of quality video and television products. No more. It's questionable if their DLP sets can genuinely produce a 1080p picture as advertised and their customer service and customer relations is pure garbage. Don't touch this or any other Mitsubishi Television product with a 10-pole. You'll be taken and you'll be sorry. Sony, Samsung and Sharp offer superior products and customer service. Mitsubishi has fallen to the bottom of the heap. | 1 | Today | A lot of TV for the money I've been waiting to decide which way to go, LCD or Plasma for over a year now. When I saw this DLP I was sceptical about the technology, picture, and quality. Could a DLP compare to LCD or plasma? I was blown away by the picture not to mention the price was half what LCD/Plasmas cost. My 57" Mitsubishi is wonderful. The only thing negative and it is a minor issue is the sound is somewhat "tinny". This thing should have an external speaker system. (I suppose that is also true of any large LCD/Plasma/DLP tv.) I wouldn't trade my Mitsubishi for anything else on the market...except for maybe the 63 or 73" model of the same. | 5 | Today | Great TV, but... Happy with the TV, however, I am a "noise-person". The littlest noises can drive me crazy, and this TV made a low hum from the day we bought it. Actually tried to bring it back, but through many problems with Conn's (don't shop there!), we ended up keeping it. Did some looking around on the internet and apparently this hum is common with Mitsubishi TVs. It has something to do with the color wheel technology they use. Anyways, I can zone the hum out when watching shows, so I can live with it. Some people don't even notice the noise until it's pointed out. Besides, the picture quality is great, and it was very inexpensive for such a large size. If you think you may have a problem with the low hum, make sure you know about the return policy wherever you buy it from... including any restocking fees. | 4 | Today | flawed system I purchased a WD-57732 in November 2006, great picture, nice features, but it did not take long for problems to develop. Started with a loud fan, then I started getting messages that the openings were blocked and the tv would shut down (nothing was blocking the vents). In the first 2 months I had to take time off of work to meet a service person 2 times. I was told this was a common problem with these sets. The problem kept happening and after about seven months and 3 more visits the service guy said he had a fix -> bypassing the thermistor (sensor on the fan for the lamp), and that finally fixed the problem with the tv shutting off. In December 2007 the tv just went blank (no picture but I could "hear" the stations). The set was now out of warranty, I called Mitsubishi and after going through a number of steps I got the picture back, but now the picture was very dark. I have been called Mitsubishi a number of times and at this point they won't even call me back, so I am stuck with an expensive set (which I am still paying for)with a dark picture, no warranty, and a company that won't even call me back. I have had many tvs over the years and never had any problems with any of them. I would recommend anyone thinking of purchasing one of these sets to reconsider. this product is a lemon | 1 | Today | Amazing Ive had this tv for about a month now..its amazing, blu ray is an incredible experience | 5 | Today | OUTSTANDING T.V., Great Value I purchased the Mitsubishi WD-57733 T.V. on December 11, 2007. I can only say one word to describe it, (OUTSTANDING). Setup was a breeze. The picture is just out of this world. My biggest surprise was the built in sound system, a real delight to my ears. Connections galore. I have not purchased a high-definition DVR yet. I just used my progressive scan Yamaha DVR to watch Polar Express and WOW, I felt like I was actually there. Mitsubishi really got it right with this T.V. I highly recommend this item. | 5 | Today | Great TV! ...at an even greater price! Buddy of mine purchased the same set at Howards for $1,600, so when I saw the price dip down to $1,340 I couldnt pass it up. I couldnt be more pleased! The picture is excellent and the colors are magnificent. Setup was a breeze, as soon as I plugged in the hdmi from my satelite recvr it recognized it and was ready to go.
Delivery was great to, they even helped me set it up. My xbox 360 looks amazing, jamming out to rock band on this beast is such a treat!
At first I was worried it may be too big but I'm used to it now and it feels like I'm in my very own movie theatre. You simply can not beat the deal on this tv, best bang for your buck without a doubt... I'm very pleased. | 5 | Today |
