Each meal has been an utter disaster! My experience with each meat is that it gets extremely dried out, unlike the description that cooking on low gives the meat a tender, juicy effect. The next meal I tried was a roast chicken. It too was delicious. If you spray the unit with a no-stick spray before using, clean up is a snap. I am very happy with the Crockpit BBQ. 5 800 days ago Great Cooker Very easy to use we've cooked baby back ribs, country style ribs and chicken legs in it already. The meat comes out perfectly, fall off the bone juicy! Clean up is very easy, don't know why it would be troublesome unless food is burned onto the crock. <br /> <br />Entire crock pulls out, soaked in some warm soapy water for a couple of hours and it pretty much just wipes clean. Only a heat mat is needed to protect counters, but that's normal for heat generating appliances. 5 781 days ago A poor quality product I purchased this product after seeing it mentioned in a magazine and reading about it online. Most complaints against it seemed to be centered on clean-up, which ironically is one thing about it that I didn't find to be a problem (a little water in the bottom meant just a bit of scrubbing). HOWEVER, I've already returned it for a refund to the store where I bought it because it really is a poor quality product. <br /> <br />I do most of the cooking in the house so I know my way around the kitchen, and figured that a product by Rival would be of high quality. The first dish we tried to cook was a chicken, and although I followed the basting and seasoning instructions, and cooked it for two hours LESS than the directions called for, the bird was hopelessly dried out when all was said and done. Next we tried ribs, but it was next to impossible to get them to stand up in the rack like was shown in the pictures and instructions. Instead they all sort of slid down into the bottom of the Pit and really ended up tough and chewy instead of "fall-off-the-bone". Our final attempt was a pork roast that also turned out far too dry. So we returned it for a refund, and a lesson learned. I'd strongly advise that you stick with the real thing when it comes to BBQing and stay away from these novelty items. 1 781 days ago Great ribs, great cooker I have only made the ribs with this cooker, but was very impressed. Both times, the meat did fall off the bone, cooked great and looked like they had been cooking on the grill. They were tasty and delicious. <br /> <br />Before I purchased, I did find some tips about the cooker on other sites, and am passing them along here. <br /> <br />1) Before you start cooking, make sure the cooker is in a place you want it to stay because you cannot move it once it's on, it is too hot and no handles on the sides. No biggie, just know where you want to cook it. <br /> <br />2) Place a layer of aluminum foil on the bottom prior to cooking. This HELPS TREMENDOUSLY with clean up. After each set of ribs, I just pull the aluminum foil up (carefully to keep the drippings on it) and then soak. Eliminates a lot of the soak time and I have had no problem with the remainder of clean up. <br /> <br />I even had my friend try these ribs who is a very critical person of ribs and she is now looking to get one herself she enjoyed them so much. Definitely worth it if you enjoy ribs/bbq, etc. I am going to try the pork shoulder next... 5 781 days ago Don't waste your money This is an absolute nightmare to clean and you MUST use an oven mitt or you will get seriously burned. Easy cleanup! Now I found out that it can also be used like a big crockpot.
