I bought this oven for Christmas in 2005. It cooks the food well but when the convection motor fan turns on, the unit gives off a very loud noisy sound. I noticed if I put something under one leg, the sound will lesson for a while. Also the bottom slideout tray, used to trap falling bread crumbs, fails to close properly now, after only having opened the tray a few times. It no longer shuts all the way. The upper bug warmer compartment stains very easily so always place food on a small tray when using this compartment. I am still unable to get it clean. Overall I am abit disapointed with this oven, even though it got high reviews from consumer reports. I've had this product for six months now and it works wonders. Its really easy to use and program. The design is very sleek and modern. Surprisingly, it takes less counter space than you'd think. This is my fouth toaster oven, and it is without a doubt the best by far. I can highly recommend this Avante Elite. I do have to remember that if I make a second or third batch of toast that I have to change the setting from the default #4 to #3. This T-Fal toaster oven is solidly constructed and performs beautifully. The heating is very even, be it a bagel, a small frozen pizza, or even a steak. It works well in all of the three modes--toast, bake, and broil. I have found that it heats more evenly than my conventional oven. I am also impressed with how easy it is to clean. Most of the accessories have non-stick coating. Some occasional maintenance cleaning of the crumb tray (which pops out, CD-style) and the glass door are really all that is required.
