| Review | Rating | Last Updated | What a disappointment! I've never paid so much for a toaster and I've also never had such a lousy toaster! If you are toasting only one piece of bread, it browns only one side. Even when you are toasting two pieces, they are never evenly browned. Worst of all, the "bagel" feature -- which on every other toaster in the universe means that only the cut side will get brown, not the outside -- on this toaster means that the time will be lengthened to allow for the thickness. I am ready to toss this thing out, despite the fact that it was pricey and is nearly brand-new. | 1 | 820 days ago | This is what I expected This toaster is what I expected it to be. It toasts well and looks reasonably nice. Some of the buttons are a bit ' plasticy'. | 4 | 820 days ago | Very Satisfied We have toasted bread, bagels, and frozen waffles. It works just fine, toasting very evenly. This is the nicest toaster we have ever owned. | 5 | 820 days ago | Don't bother Let's start with the pros: The Cuisinart CPT-160 looks really sharp (if you're into the stainless look that is). That's where the 1-star rating comes in. Moving on to the cons then: It will incinerate anything toasted on a setting above "1.5"! Why on earth the dial goes all the way up to "6" is beyond me. I've owned my toaster for about a month now and have tried everything from toast to bagels, frozen waffles and pop-tarts just to find something that won't burn beyond "2"... no such luck. Not that you need another reason not to buy this toaster after that, but to top it all off the finish will show every single fingerprint (mothers beware!!!). As far as brushed finishes go, this one needs to go back to the drawing board. I've only paid $45 for mine, but even at that price I'm not willing to eat burnt toast for the rest of its days. It's going back to the store TODAY! | 1 | 820 days ago | Perfect I was reluctant to spend this much for a toaster, but after trying a less expensive one (a Krups, no less) and finding that it made extremely uneven toast, I decided to spend a little more. I exchanged it for this one, and so far, this one makes perfect toast; in fact, I've never seen toast so evenly browned. The defrost works great, too -- I tried it on frozen bread, without changing the 'brown' setting, and it came out looking just like the toast from regular/thawed bread. (Sorry, I don't toast my bagels, so I can't comment on that feature.) In short, this is the best toaster I've ever used, and well worth the money. | 5 | 820 days ago |
