| Review | Rating | Last Updated | I grew up in Hawaii, and this is as close as you'll get to Matsumoto's without spending $$$ I grew up in Hawaii and now live in Northern CA...not the foggy part...the hot part. It was 105 yesterday, and I've got a 4 year old and a 2 year old. In the afternoon the boys were getting cranky, so we pulled the S500 Hawaiice Electric Snow Maker out and made some shaved ice with some raspberry syrup and cooled everyone down. Worked like a charm, and the price is right, too.

<br />Just toss ice in the top, spin it and you've got shaved ice. The blade is hidden in the bottom, so my kids can help put the ice in with no risk of getting cut. The set up is nothing and the clean up is just slightly more than that - just take off the top and throw the leftover ice in the sink. My only wish, and the only reason I don't give this machine 5 stars, is that it's not easy to do the sno-cone thing, which is the way I was used to having shaved ice growing up. That's a small issue, though. My boys love it and I'm a fan. | 4 | 754 days ago | Hawaiice Electric Snow Maker This product works very well. It uses regular ice cubes which is a big plus. My kids love it. Makes a lot of shaved ice in a short time. | 5 | 754 days ago | Makes fluffy powder snow This machine works great, and uses regular ice cubes rather than requiring you to use a freezer mold, which is much more convenient, and saves on freezer space. Add some syrup from the coffee isle of your supermarket, and you're ready to go. | 5 | 754 days ago | Snow Maker My Mom bought the Hawaiice Electric Snow Maker for me last year. I saw my friend had one yet it was winter so I couldn't buy them in any stores. We looked on amazon and there was the snow cone maker of my dreams, just waiting for me to click "buy". As soon as I got I invited my friend over for a snow cone. All you have to do is throw some ice cubes in the top of it and turn the lid. It immediately shreds the ice into snow. Then all I had to do was add some flavored syrup and "PRESTO" there you have a personal made snow cone. Every kid should have one for the long hot summer. | 5 | 754 days ago | Not happy on Syracuse Not the greatest product. I have the less expensive model by the same company and it works much better. I can see how a parent would prefer this product if it was to be used by children as the less expensive model, although electric, requires strength. But for my use, the less expensive model is the way to go. It is MUCH faster. This product is slow and does not produce shaved ice with any degree of consistancy. Some days, no matter what I did, it would not produce shaved ice. Go with the less expensive electric model. This model needs to be re-engineered!! | 1 | 754 days ago |
