This griddle is great for just about everything. The only time it doesn't do well (at least for me) is when I can't move the food around.

<br />First, the bad. I was surprised when I read other reviewers comments that it was great for pancakes, because the uneven heating does not make for a uniformally cooked pancake. If I make a single regular-sized pancake right in the middle it turns out great (at around 325F), but if I make more and move them closer to the edge I get half overcooked and half undercooked. Since cooking pancakes was the primary reason I bought this griddle, I'm not that thrilled with it.

<br />That said, everything else about this griddle is great.

<br />Cost - Good value, especially at Amazon
<br />Build - Solid, only three parts (griddle, drip tray and power cord) and good quality
<br />Clean - Very easy to clean, and the drip try really works well
<br />Size - Large surface area makes it a breeze to cook up bacon and eggs for four people all at once
<br />Speed - Heats up quickly, and cleans up even quicker
<br />
<br />In a nutshell, if you're cooking food that has to remain stationary then I give this a 1-star. If you can move food around (bacon, eggs, burgers, etc) to distribute the heat, it's a 5-star unit.

This griddle was a must-have for us! My husband can whip up breakfast in no time, now, with 6 or 8 pieces of french toast or pancakes cooking at the same time. Grilled cheese used to take much longer, too, and this is a breeze to wash. We store it in its original box in our pantry, so as not to scratch the non-stick surface! We had one of these griddles already. Superior to others we've had partly because it handles the grease from, say, bacon really well. We wanted to give one to a friend and had trouble finding it in local stores. Amazon came through for us--and all in time for the holidays!

I got this griddle because I couldn't use my cast iron one on my new glass cooktop. Well, let me say that I am delighted with it. Everything cooks evenly and there is virtually NO mess. It is the easiest-to-clean cooking appliance I have ever had. Everything I've cooked has turned out great: pancakes are perfect, bacon and sausage done just right, and London broil done to perfection.
