Pleasantly Surprised! We zipped up to our Mountain Cabin and plugged in this dandy convection oven/microwave. Our guests arrived and we hoped we could really brown bread and bake. Sharp Microwave/convection oven Sharp is about the only manufacturer of a small combination oven that will fit in the space that is provided for a microwave in most RVs. I replaced the factory installed oven with the Sharp so as to have the convenience of a convection oven as well as a microwave. It has performed well, that is, after we learned how to cope with the super smart processer that would like to take over all of the mundane chores of how to cook you food. Once we learned (it had much patience , at least) how to use the complexities of the system it became a delight to use. We did have to modify the cabinet slightly in order to make it fit and did order the cabinet installation kit from another dealer.	4	820 days ago
Believe the positive reviews This is an incredible little machine. I've used all of the functions and they worked perfectly. One must use the owner's manual to program certain functions and it is more complicated (since it does more) than the Whirlpool Gold micro/convention oven it replaced. I love that I can grill (vs. frying) since grease does not splatter all over the kitchen. The interior is a breeze to clean. I've now donated several other small appliances (toaster oven, 2 GF grills) to Goodwill so it has also freed up extra kitchen storage space.	5	820 days ago
Sharp convection microwave I am very happy with this microwave, it's just what I wanted, the convenience of a microwave and a smaller (convection) oven for when my kids want to cook up a little something, rather than heating up the big conventional oven. I read reviews about it that said the turntable was wobbly, but I don't have that problem at all, maybe they haven't seated it fully. I was dismayed to find that the convection cookbook says to use the same time for oven cooking that I use in a conventional oven. I'd thought convection would be about 15% less time...but still, it's better than the the big oven space heating up for a small portion. It's attractive, and it takes up slightly less room that my older Sharp microwave. I do have to keep the user manual handy - can't remember all the steps nor the codes to do what I want to, e.g Reheat means put in a number code to correspond with what you want to reheat...and Preheat, another number code corresponds to the temp you want to reheat to. But the results are satisfying and I hope I reduce my energy costs somewhat.	5	820 days ago
Dangerous and poorly made -- stay away!! Stay away from this microwave at all costs! I bought this microwave based on the good reviews on Amazon and because it is a convection microwave. I was looking for a top-quality microwave that would last a long time. <br /> <br />When the microwave arrived I immediately plugged it in, and it did not work. After 5 minutes on high my food was ice cold. I had to have the microwave serviced the next day after phone calls to Sharp and the local Sharp repair store. After the microwave was serviced it worked correctly. <br /> <br />I used the microwave fewer than 10 times when one weekend afternoon I defrosted bread on 30% for 3 minutes. I was in the bedroom when I heard my fiance in the living room screaming. I ran into the kitchen and there was smoke BILLOWING out of the microwave. Within one minute I could not see more than a few inches in front of me. The thick smoke smelled terrible and filled our apartment and the floor of our building. We had people knocking on our door within minutes to make sure we were ok. When I went down to the lobby of our building you could smell the smoke - 5 floors away! <br /> <br />This was truly a TERRIFYING experience. Our apartment still smeels terrible. I have had to wash and dry clean all our clothes and wash everything in the apartment down to the shower curtain to try to get the smell out. More than a week after this happened I can still smell the smoke in the apartment. <br /> <br />I threw the microwave away and put a sign on it to make sure no one else in the building saw a brand new microwave in the garbage room and thought it was ok to take and use. For $200 I would love my money back, especially considering I have had to dry clean my entire wardrobe to boot, but I can't imagine how many hours it would take me on the phone with Sharp to try to get my money back.
