| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Great keyboard; mouse is a piece of junk I have only the nicest things to say about this keyboard even though writing this review will probably contain 50 typos before I look it over. The keyboard I can tell already is extremely ergonomic but the shape by which Microsoft used to achieve this is strange to say the least (such as the "B" button being 3 times as large as the "A" button.) The device will certainly take some getting used to but once I master it, I expect to have the best keyboard on the market. The keys emit a very dull, rather quiet sound and the soft bottom part of the keyboard only adds to the comfort. I'm also impressed with the many customizable features that this keyboard includes such as 5 favorites buttons, customizable F1 through F12 buttons (with an F lock,) as well as web, calendar, mail, messenger, and My Documents keys. The premier problem with the keyboard would probably have to be the fact that there are no lights on this device, leaving me to look to the bottom of my screen to see whether my Caps Lock or Num lock are on. This is a small problem for me because I use this in conjunction with a laptop where I can see easily a light indicating the utilization of the lock keys.

The mouse that comes in this package however is a very sad disappointment (how dare you Microsoft.) Although it's one of the more comfortable and lightweight mouses I have ever used, it has the cheapest, most flimsy feel. It feels like I bought it from the dollar store. The batteries seem like they're buried inside the device so I can't use my rechargeable double-A's because I use them with my digital camera as well. The reception signal for the mouse is horrible. Luckily, I hadn't thrown my GE wireless mouse away. To top it off, the WOM 2.0 mouse is ugly as sin.

All in all, I wanted to give this package a 4-star but the small problem with the keyboard and the crapiness of the mouse left me sorely disappointed. But thanks to Amazon's marketplace, the 20 bucks I paid was well worth it. | 3 | 818 days ago | MS Optical Wireless Mouse 3000 - PS2 connector problems This review only covers the mouse mentioned above(also known as Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0). Installation and setup was a breeze with XP. Had problems when using the mouse with the PS2-USB connector that came in the mouse package. not very responsive, would need to click 2-3 times before the 'click' would actually occur on the screen, or you have to be very precise about placing the pointer right at the center of the icon you are trying to click. Another reviewer here mentioned that he had the opposite problem: while connecting directly to USB it had this problem, but it went away when using the PS2 connector. Strange. In any case, my problem went away when I connected directly to the USB port. Now the mouse works just fine, and there are no problems with signal or connection strength. the receiver is placed about 2 feet away, and at a higher level(mouse is on a below-desk keyboard tray). | 4 | 818 days ago | excellent product So far! The keyboard and mouse are working perfectly. I have no problems in 1 month of usage.

My only complaint is the shape of the keyboard, it feels awkward but, not a bad as the "natural" one. | 5 | 818 days ago | Mouse aggravation I like the keyboard well enough, though having the caps lock light on the receiver rather than on the keyboard itself is silly. The "F lock" thing was very frustrating to figure out. But I have no real issue with the keyboard.

The mouse is another story. The mouse generally does not function at all if it is more than two inches away from the receiver. Seriously, two inches. It really defeats the point of having a wireless mouse. My last wireless mouse was from Dell and I kept the receiver three feet away from the mouse with no issues whatsoever, so this new mouse is very frustrating. Weirdly, I can take the keyboard halfway across the room and it still works. The mouse also goes through batteries at an amazing rate. | 3 | 818 days ago | Obvious ssue I bought this set to help keep my desk clean and wire free. That is the only good thing I can say about it thus far. I have owned this set for a grand total of a week and the huge flaw that I have found thus far is that if you buy the set that is suppost to be all ran through one USB plug... DONT USE IT. Plug it into both PS2 ports other wise you will be plagued with intermittent connectivity issues.
For almost an entire day I had to double click an object about 3 times to get it to register a single click. I am just glad I didn't use this setup for gaming.
To me, advertising a product should do something well and it doesn't makes for a bad product. | 2 | 797 days ago | Not for a heavy user I'm a touch typist, typing at 60+ wpm and found this keyboard very frustrating. It seemed to miss letters. If I try to enter multiple ctrl key sequences, it wouldn't take them, recognizing the first ctrl key, but not the subsequent one. I'd have to release the ctrl key after the first selection and re-press it for the second one to register.

I also had trouble with multiple selections using ctrl-click to select them. I'd start selecting a few items and then all of a sudden, I'd see only one item selected.

I'm running flat panel monitors. If I put the receiver on the desk, but behind the flat panels, the keyboard would not work (total distance from receiver was about 12 inches). The receiver had to be in front of the monitors.

The Mouse software would not install on Windows XP 64-bit. Note that MS does not say this driver is 64-bit compatible. Kind of disappointing that their own product doesn't support Windows properly. | 1 | 797 days ago | There's good and there's BAD! The price was great on this duo, I got both for the price of a mouse. That should have tipped me off...
The keyboard is excellent, I've had other wireless keyboards and had all kinds of trouble, this one is fine so far. The design is OK and I like the features. The mouse is another story, it's design is a bit clumsy and it's very temperamental. The movement is fine, the scrollwheel is also OK, but the buttons only work when they feel like it! I've tried changing the wireless channel and sometimes it works, but not all the time. I sometimes have to click on something 5 or 6 times before it registers. I've found no help on their troubleshooter or support site either. Other times the mouse works great. Unless you are very patient and have alot of time on your hands I would steer clear of this duo. Buy the items separately this way you can just return one if it doesn't work properly. | 3 | 797 days ago | Good I love this my only problem is battery on mouse keeps saying low battery but the battery is still good. Overall it is good for the price. | 4 | 797 days ago | Good buy I landed on this product when it was on a deep discount. Immediately bought it because of the following reasons:
Pros:
* I type a lot, and hence needed an ergonomic keyboard.
* keys are meaningful response. Have to get a hang of it initially, but it worked well afterwards.
* Mouse sync was good (unlike other reviews), just punch the button on the transmitter (the one you connect to the USB port) and you will see the LEDs making some signals. Then punch connect button on the back of the mouse and you will see the LEDs becoming normal. This ends the sync process (you can read it in manual though)
* The cushion at the bottom for arm rest is pretty good.

Cons:
* Mouse Battery life (indication) - it fooled me to change the battery within a week. The second time, I took the battery out and replaced it again, still working for more than a month.
* Sometimes I end up seeing the character punched twice (may be due to fast typing too)

Overall, I am very pleased with the ergonomics and the wireless feature. | 4 | 797 days ago |
