The 17" screen is a plus too, large enough but not too large. | 5 | 819 days ago | nice picture quality, relatively inexpensive, easy to install I don't have experience with a lot of different LCD monitors, but I do regularly use one at my job (an NEC AccuSync LCD72V). I would say that the HP model was much easier for me to set up. Apart from needing to adjust the contrast and brightness (because ALL displays of any type seem to be calibrated to be too bright), the HP was truly a plug and play device. The NEC, on the other hand, kept giving me messages that it wanted to change the resolution to what it considered was optimal -- the only problem being that when I allowed it to change to its desired default setting, I could not tolerate how small everything looked on the screen.
As for comparing LCD and CRT computer monitors, I must say that there is something seductive about photos and graphics when viewed on an LCD. There just seems to be more dimensionality and the colors seem more vibrant. When it comes to text, however, neither LCD monitor I've used has text as sharp as what I'm used to using my old 19" CRT monitor. | 4 | 819 days ago |
