| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Garbage The Popeil Showtime Rotisserie Platinum Edition was the worst purchase I've ever made. The rotisserie kept falling off and the door would work smooth. My Ronco can now be found in our local landfill. | 1 | 774 days ago | Love it! I think it's the best way to make turkey, chicken, & burgers. We use it all the time to make burgers. Just twenty minutes of rotating. Rotisserie in their juices & the fat drips off. Moist & delicious. You place them in one of the rotating trays & you're the hamburger King/Queen! Plus, this unit is very frugal. Way less energy is used compared to an oven or stove top! It's a must have!
(P.S.)I cut the wings off the turkeys right up to the shoulder/body, only tie up the legs, then rotisserie it. The wings tend to overcook even in an oven. You can get more meat off of them if you boil them in water along with the neck til the meat starts to fall off the bones. You'll be surprised at how much meat's there. It's tender-n-yummy to mix up w/mayo & put on bread. meat...meat...meat! :)* | 5 | 774 days ago | One of the best kitchen values on the market!!! I love kitchen gadgets. I have had some great items, but more times than not, I have ended up with less then quality goods. This oven is that diamond in the rough. It is very easy to operate and the cooking time is greatly reduced. There really is no limt to what you can cook. I have cooked wonderful meats such as chickens, ribs, turkeys, and roasts. What is really nice is that I can experiment and still make great dishes because the cooking is so consistent. The only way to mess up is to not follow the very easy instructions.
This thing is clean. Beause of the way it works with the veggie cooker on top, I hardley ever cook with pots which is great on diswashing. All you have to do is clean out the bottom and move on. Someone here recommended using foil on the heat shield and I'll be trying that because that sounds like a great idea.
It is great for Low-carbers or just folks that like a good, tasty, juicy meat dish. I find this one to be a no-brainer. | 5 | 774 days ago | Rotisserie I just love my rotisserie, I use it 4 and five times a week the food is great and clean up is so easy, just place parts in dish washer, have told all my friends they need to get one | 5 | 774 days ago | Works on Chicken, But Not Much Else Everybody I know has a Popeil Rotisserie and everybody loves it and raves about it, so I decided to get one also.
First, the good:

1) The size is great. It is small enough to not take up too much counter space, yet it's big enough to cook a 15 pound turkey if you so desire.
2) Cleanup is a breeze. It's easy to clean if you remember to put foil on the bottom pan/grate.
3) Chicken tastes fabulous. You can't beat this bad boy for a whole little chicken.
4) It's very fast. It cooks a 4 pound chicken in one hour.
5) The veggie tray is awesome. It didn't come with this unit, but I purchased it separately. It beautifully cooks/steams your veggies while your chicken is cooking. There are two separate areas for two separate veggies. I can't say enough good things about the warming tray.
Now for the bad:

1) If I cooked anything other than chicken, it came out terrible. I tried a ham, cornish game hens, pork tenderloin and turkey cutlets. They were all terrible. The problem was everything was black/burned on the outside and cold/raw on the inside. The cornish game hens were a complete disaster. I was in tears after trying to cook these things for hours. I kept taking them out, then putting them in for more time. In. Out. In. Out. They were black on the outside and raw on the inside. My smoke alarm kept going off, yet it wasn't cooked through. I ended up throwing them away and not eating them. Someone told me that it was probably because I did not bring the meat to room temperature before cooking it, but that doesn't sound very safe to me. I am not in the habit of leaving fresh meat out for hours to get to room temperature before cooking it.
2) The liquid food injector was disappointing. When I shoved it into meat, the meat itself clogged up the works and nothing came out. I could not press the plunger at all.
3) Even though they provide you with these huge p | 2 | 774 days ago |
