This flash drive does not work with Windows 98SE. The back of the package clearly states you can download drivers for Windows 98SE at the maufacturer's web site. First I tried downloading the driver. Turns out the driver is a .zip file so I had to download WinZip so I could unzip the driver. After downloading the driver and WinZip the flash drive is still not recognized by my PC. The FAQ at the manufacturer's web site states if the device is not recognized the BIOS on my PC must be enabled. But the FAQ doesn't tell you how to enable the BIOS. 1 754 days ago works ok - but not for key chain I wanted a flash memory drive that I could keep with me always - on my keychain. Although this product has a loop for attaching to things (like keychains) - the loop is very small and difficult to work with. After having it on my keychain for two weeks, the small plastic loop broke and the flash drive fell off - I almost lost it. 2 754 days ago Mine works great! Geez, after reading all the bad reviews, I have to put my two cents in on this device. I've had mine for about a year now and it still works great! <br /> <br />I have used it on both XP and 98SE computers and have had no problems with either. Yeah you have to download the drivers for it to work on 98SE, and it doesn't give you the fancy bells and notices like XP (you also have to drag your files to the assigned drive letter where it's at) but it works. <br /> <br />You also have to remember one thing about memory size. When a memory device is advertised at a certain size (like 128 mb) that is the size before the device is formatted. Formatting takes up a few bits of memory so you will not ever get the full capacity of the device.(look at your hard drive as an example, an 80 gig hard drive is only 75 gigs formatted) <br /> <br />Also there is a big difference between the file system that XP uses and 98SE. That creates a bit of a problem when you try to erase the device between two different operating systems (it tends to wear the device out prematurely or might lock it up)I only reformat mine on XP. <br /> <br />Hope this helps in your decision! My only recommendation is if you are concerned about how much you can store, buy a bigger capacity device. (my next one is going to be a 1 gig at least!) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 5 754 days ago Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin I think everyone knows that these drives have become invaluable. Mine has become a necessitiy between my computers at work and at home and any where I can get an open computer. I have W2K at home with USB 1 and XP Pro at work with USB 2. Never had any type of compatibility issue. This 128 MB size is the minimum most can get by with in my opinion. I plan on upgrading to at least the 256 soon. <br /> <br />The amazing this is that I have just removed my USB drive from a clean pair of pants that went through the wash and dry cycle. And this was the second time. I can't believe it still works. <br /> <br />Maybe I'll have to start using that ridiculus cord and wear it around my neck. <br /> <br />Through away your zip and floppy disks and get one of these things. Just make sure you back it up often. 5 754 days ago Not worth it I bought this a little while ago, and it was working OK. However, the casing felt somewhat flimsy. About after a month of use, it would not work on any of my computers unless I constantly reformatted the drive.
