I loved the Suffering, and though I have no idea how far through this game I am, I have to say that the Suffering 2 is far superior. There is constantly something going on in the environments: breathing, screams, creepy background ambience, snippets of conversation. Corpses and blood everywhere. And let's face it, if you like hard core graphic violence horror games, this one is for you.
If you liked the first at all, just buy this. If you didn't like the first one, go back to playing Mario or whatever. | 4 | 799 days ago | Not as great as the first one, but still way cool.......... Just finished this game on easy, now I'm playing it on the hardest level, and let me tell you, it's like night and day, alot more challenging, tons more baddies and even a few more bosses. So, I got to say I'm having a blast playing this, but then again, I had a blast playing the first one. I have been playing games for years, and I have only given 1 game 5 stars (Manhunt), but the first Suffering comes close, and this one is just a tad bit behind that. I like the fact that you can't finish this game in 1 night, some levels take numerous attempts plus there is also the exploring. For example, a couple of times you come across characters who are there to help you if you follow them, and then they run ahead, but you want to take it slow, because just like the first one, there is lots of cool hidden stuff.
Torque is now in bleak and dreary Baltimore, when has become overun with alot of the same monsters from the first one and even a few new ones, and you can read about every one of them with the journals that are at your disposal to read anytime. You again have the choice of playing good or evil. I played good the first time and I'm killing everything in sight this round, so I'm not yet sure if that is going to effect the ending.

The weapons are numerous and powerfull, we are even talking grenade launchers and 7 or 8 other guns this time. But another thing that separates this game from others like it, is that with some levels you just don't blow everything up and advance, no, you got to think the way out, and I'm not going to lie, it's not so easy sometimes.

Yes, it's very violent and graphic, also lots of language, but if you could handle the first one, then you'll have no probs with this one, but, like I said before, take your time, explore every angle and corner, cuz' I guarantee you, there is so much to do and see, that you don't wanna miss a thing.
Here's looking forward to Sufffering 3....
graphic | 4 | 799 days ago | Great follow up!!! This is a great continuation to the original. Better graphics, more atmosphere, more combative battles, not easy but that's only if you don't choose your weapons wisely. A really dark story that's well matured for an adult audience as well. | 5 | 799 days ago | James I played the first one a while back on hard mode in the Xbox so i knew what i was getting myself into. This one is totally different. Just like they said the difficulty is alot harder on hard mode. when you see a gun (machine gun or tommy gun) on easy mode instead of a gun there will be a pole on hard mode. What makes it even more difficult is that when you fight bosses you must do it from far away. Without knowing they will surround you and there will be 3 on easy mode/8 on hard mode. Sometimes its kinda impossible but thats the fun of it. This game is worth your money PERIOD! the graphics are surreal, the sound makes for a very scary game, the gameplay is kinda difficult since one joystick moves him and the other uses to look around. Some will say that thats why the camera sucks. Just get used to it and you wont even worry about the camera as long as you master it! Choose your guns wisely cause you might pick one up and only find ammo for that gun once in a lifetime.
OVERALL id give this game a 5 because its not something that you beat and then trade it. This will be a game where you still have it and are stuck on a part (depending on difficulty)!
