Pros: <br /> <br />Great sounding speakers with plenty of power to fill a room. Excellent Bass & Treble response. The best I've heard for its compact size and small footprint. <br /> <br />Cons: <br /> <br />1.) The SoundDock uses an external transformer. You have 13 feet of power cables to tuck away. Five feet of cable from the wall outlet to the converter (which is 4.5"x2.5"x1.5") and another 8 feet of cable to the SoundDock. It's not as neat or convenient as it should be, were the converter built into the unit. For a Bose designed product, this is a major fault if you want to use it on a countertop in a kitchen environment. It also makes the SoundDock a bit less "portable" for anyone who would like to move it between the Kitchen, Patio, Bedroom or Family Room. <br /> <br />2.) No external input for a second audio source. <br /> <br />3.) The price. In additon to that, Bose products are never discounted and always seem to have the same price no matter where you shop. (So are Apple products for that matter, how is that NOT some kind of price collusion?) <br /> <br />Overall I couldn't be happier with the sound, but that happiness comes at a price. <br /> 4 754 days ago What can I say, it's a BOSE! I've had my Bose Sounddock for just a few weeks and I already love it. The sound quality is just amazing and the thing gets loud as heck! I know there isn't the aux sound input, but honestly, i don't own a CD player and i can attach an ipod shuffle through an accessory adapter (griffin or kensington). I mean, the thing, charges my ipod, and plays it back with awesome sound as soon as i plug it in! How simple is that? As good as the sounddock is, there are a few minor flaws: <br /> <br />first, the dock inserts A&B don't work too well for the new 5th gen ipods, as they are a little bit loose. However, you can easily fix that problem, i just taped a strip of rubber onto the back of the insert's hole (the space between the back of the ipod and the edge of the insert when the ipod is plugged in) and it holds the ipod upright just fine. If you have the 60gb 5G ipod, you can also try to plug it into the A insert (even though Bose advises you to use the B insert) and it fits, but fits a bit tight. <br /> <br />if you want something that sounds better for the same price, go buy a set of Bose Companion 3 Speakers and the iPod AV Kit and you can have pretty much the same thing, but with a better remote and better sound, with the sacrifice of protability for about $50 more than the sounddock. <br /> <br />As far as looks go, get the black version, it meshes well with both the white and black ipods, the white one only goes well with the white ipod. 5 754 days ago Incredible Sound Sound is very important to me. Paid $399 (Canadian) Would expect more features on the remote and better sound adjustment for that price.
