| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Chinese Junque I've had two of these during the past year year. The first one lasted about three months, and the second one just died. Both were used only once a day in the a.m. The Farberware name used to be synonymous with quality. No longer. This piece of junk has soured me on all Farberware products. Caveat emptor. | 1 | 775 days ago | do not submerse, do not put in dishwasher Not as good as the original from the 50's...but not bad. My second faberware perculator is happier than the first, because It doesn't go in the dishwasher. Don't thow the old one away...use it for parts (if you buy a second one). These make good coffee fast, and keeps it at the right temp. Unless you don't mind drinking the sludge at the bottom use Melitta disc filters. | 4 | 775 days ago | The ups and downs of Farberware. All though this is still one of the best percolators on the market, its durability has gone down in recent years. I find that it needs to be replaced after about two years. | 4 | 775 days ago | The Best Little Perc in Town For the coffee traditionalist AND for those who long for the taste and smell of home!

This little perc has been a presence in our family for thirty or forty years. After I left home several decades ago, I evolved into a coffee press/Peet's fanatic myself, but when I brought my parents to live with me, the little Farberware Perc came with them, and I quickly reverted back to that fresh perked taste and smell. The coffee makes up fast and goes fast, so you never have that old perked coffee smell in your house or that syrupy brown gunk to deal with, and these chubby little Farberware droids last forever. Fortunately my folks decided they liked Maxwell House Colombian better than the Master Blend, and we brew several pots of this delicious liquid a day.

Warning: do not compare this coffee experience to your Peet's or Zabar's cafe presse - instead think of diners and grandma's house! | 5 | 775 days ago | The Quality has gone, ------> to China Yes, once upon a time this Farberware coffee pot lasted. We had one lasting at least a decade. Then we bought a new replacement, made in China, which failed in just 4 mos. It cost $15.00 to replace it from the factory. This second, now 9 mos old produces stained, lukewarm water. In each case, the thermal switch fails, an easily replaced and cheap item. Except the factory does not make any parts available as it once used to. Hoffman Industries makes similar thermal switches, which cost $0.65 each. I ordered three temperature ranges to potentially fix my pot myself. The part most likely to fit, is Therm-O-Disc #36TO1-L80-8c I hope to leave a follow-on report of success/failure. | 2 | 775 days ago |
