Other than by hand blender, the Big Mouth is the most functional, flexible and powerful food processor I have ever owned. <br /> <br />We added this machine to our bridal registry after seeing a commercial for the Big Mouth. The commercial was humorous, but they did not lie about the machine's capabilities. <br /> <br />You really can fit in a huge variety of foods in to the feeding tube. Whole tomatoes, quartered heads of iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, blocks of chocolate fit right in and can be shredded in less time than it takes for you to read this review. <br /> <br />For example, we like to make a brazilian type of salad with carrots, red cabbage, onion and garlic. Making it by hand takes 20-30 minutes so we used to not make it all that often. <br /> <br />With the Big Mouth all I do is quarter a red cabbage and drop the quarters in to the food tube with a couple of cloves of garlic and a whole red onion. Using the fine shredder it takes less than 10 seconds to shred these ingredients. I then add in 5-6 peeled carrots and 10 seconds later they are shredded. Add a little vinegarette and we're done in under 5 minutes - peeling time for the carrots included. <br /> <br />A couple of nice design touches round out an impressive machine: <br />1 - The chopping blade is uniquely shaped and slightly serrated. It seems to be able to cut through tough ingredients better than the blades on other food processors I have owned. <br /> <br />2 - The work bowl is also slightly angled outward so that food tends to stick less to the side. This comes in handy when pureeing soups, sauces etc. <br /> <br />3 - The speed/pulse dial allows for a range of slicing dicing options. <br /> <br />4 - The suction cups on the bottom really do hold this thing in place. This is important because this is a powerful machine that generates a lot of torque. <br /> <br />5 - The suction cups on my machine have not f 5 774 days ago Everything it says, it does! I looked around awhile for a good food processor, but didn't want to spend too much money. Glad I found this. I've had it for about a month now and it works great. You can't beat the price, and I advise you to stick with this model (as opposed to the earlier 70590 model which does not include the extra blade). <br /> <br />The wide mouth is a big plus, so there is no need to pre-chop the food before placing it into the processor. The motor is very powerful and the suction cups on the bottom help secure the processor in place when it's running (however you can still move the food processor if you need to without too much effort), the blades are VERY sharp (trust me on this one....),and food doesn't seem to get caught in the blades (when slicing) like it does with some other models. Also, the chopper/grinder blade processes all the food evenly (did a great job on carrots and onions...very few "uneven" pieces). <br /> <br />It's very easy to disassemble for cleaning and although it is an inch or two taller than most other processor's, it's not so obtrusive that it can't be left on the counter or easily stored away. <br /> <br />On top of that, there's the free shipping which made this a great deal. If you're thinking about a food processor that chops, grinds and slices etc., and you plan on using this for your regular family meals, you should really consider this. 5 774 days ago Big Mouth Processor Very nice unit,powerful motor makes for nice opeation. Am very much satisfied. 5 774 days ago Best bang for the buck I like the fact you have some control over the speed you can use to process the food with different speed settings. For the price you won't find anything better and you get the extra slicing blade. The only con is the suction cups on the bottom. If you love to cook--or if you dread taking out the food processor you have with that little itty-bitty hole, then buy this food processor. I don't have to cut anything up anymore like I use to, most foods fit inot the big hole - whole. Clean up is easy.
