Compared to the Pelican dance pad we have, it has a thicker foam core and is much more responsive. The only thing our Pelican has that is better is the fact that it can be used for all game platforms. This is a great pad for those who are just starting out and an excellent choice if you want to modify it. Once you begin playing DDR with a passion you have to modify these kinds of pads in order to get high scores. Modifying just involves attaching it to a hard surface (plywood) and then covering with a clear plastic such as a shower curtain liner. 5 790 days ago The material it is made out of is the only flaw. I got this dancepad and it is better then my old one. My old one would slide all over the floor and this one doesn't. But it is made out of sort of the same material as my old one. The material on my old one is slippery and started to split open and fall apart and this one is made out of the same material so I will see if it wears better but I will not count on it but I got it really cheap. Thats the only bad thing about this one. This one is wired better then any other dancepad I have seen and works like a charm. It also has a extremely awesome non slip bottom that makes it stay in one place and is very hard to slide it across any type of floor. <br /> <br />If you do play a lot of Dance Dance Revolution like all the time you might want to look for a better one with better material. I only payed 20 dollars for this one so it is really cheap. A better one may be a lot more money but if you play it like 24/7 it will be worth to spend more money on it. But if your a person who plays it a lot but not all the time then this is the perfect dance pad for you! <br /> <br />According to the box this dance pad is compatible with PlayStation 2, Playstation, and PS one. <br /> <br />Overall it is a good dancepad its just the material is the only thing I am not crazy about it. If you play Dance Dance Revolution a lot you might want to find a dancepad that is made out of better material. <br /> <br />Here is how I rate it. <br /> <br />Wiring 5/5- It works like a charm and will last longer then a lot of dance pads. <br /> <br />Non-Slip Bottom 5/5- Stays in one place on the floor and does not curl up or anything. <br /> <br />Material 3/5- Low quality material that does split and is a little slippery so it may be easier to fall depending how fast your moving. The Konami Dance Pad only came in bundles so I couldn't get that one. So then I ordered this. Unlike other 3rd party dance mats this one doesnt move around a lot. however anything above 7 or 8 feet level you might experience some sliding. You can still buy a dance pad cover at [...] or do the soft pad mod at [...] <br />The Official ITG Soft Pad is an Official Sony Licensed product like the Konami soft pads you find in DDR Bundles. This pad feels thicker than the 3rd party gamestop pad. the foam between the two sensor sheets feels a lot denser than the ones on 3rd party mats.
