I have to have my mouse within a FOOT of the reciever for it to work at all, despite Microsoft's claim that the range is three free. Perhaps my mouse is defective, but then that speaks to the poor quality control of Microsoft products. A decent mouse. I have used it at work for the past 2 years. I've had to change the batteries about once every 3-4 months which isn't too bad.

<br />My only problem with this mouse is the scroll wheel. Its a very quiet scroll wheel, which is nice, but the wheel gives no feedback. No feeling of "clicking", not even slightly. Also, over time it has gotten progressively harder to spin it. I mean, it was always alittle sluggish but it gets worse and requires more effort, which causes fatigue much quicker than you'd think. | 3 | 817 days ago | Great desktop mouse, poor choice laptop mouse
Purchased originally for use with a laptop, I found the bulky remote receiver/transmitter and its long cord a very real nuisance. Moved to a stationary desktop, the long cord and large transmitter/receiver was no longer an issue. In this installation the mouse works great. The lesson: If you want a wireless mouse for a laptop, get one with just a USB plugin transmitter and skip the cord. | 4 | 817 days ago | My favorite mouse yet...
So far this has been the best mouse that I've ever owned. It is just for home use, but I love not having yet another cord to get tangled. Battery life is pretty good compared to other wireless peripherals that I've used. The weight is perfect - not too heavy, yet not so light that I accidentally knock it off my desk. The color choice is a nice option as well. I've never been a fan of Microsoft products in general (I prefer Logitech) but for some reason I really do prefer this particular mouse despite the brand.
