KidsHubs Media Camp – Togo

by BeckyD on August 30, 2013

For six days, 239 children, teens and helpers from Togo created, played, ate, filmed, learned about God and his Word and had a whole lot of fun!

Each morning started at 5:30 with a fitness session, followed by  morning devotions. After cleaning up the camp and having breakfast, they had a BibleMax lesson. During the Camp, the Gideons gave each child a New Testament and the children were taught how to use their new Bibles – the very best part of the camp.

During the day, the children and teens enjoyed a range of creative and physical activities. The teens discovered their abilities in painting and plastic art while the younger children explored drawing and what they could create with recycled materials.

KidsHubTVMeanwhile, a small group was busy filming KidsHubsTV episodes. It is hoped that this is just the beginning of a regular program for children to be aired on public TV in Togo and eventually throughout Francophone Africa.

In the afternoon, the focus was on sports and games, especially soccer. After dinner in the evening there was storytelling and films.

FoodThe kids had a wonderful time and many of them cried when they had to leave and go home. It took a lot of people to make it happen – those that worked hard on the camp and those who supported it with their generosity. But it was worth it!
